Sennheiser HD 650 + Apogee Groove USB DAC/amp for $500

If you happen to want both the new condition Sennheiser HD 650 open-back over-ear headphones AND the Apogee Groove USB DAC/amp, you can get them for $500 with free shipping at the official Sennheiser Store.

Now if you only want one of the two, the math gets more complicated. If you also factor in the Sennheiser HD 6XX, and you don’t have a fixed time frame for the purchase, then things can get more complicated.

Speaking of open-back Sennheiser, their new HD 599 open over-ears is down to $200 by Amazon actual and the official Sennheiser store. This if you want to buy it now. If you don’t have a fixed time frame, they will probably have sales in the next few weeks/months if history repeats itself.

Refurbished 16GB iPod Nano (7th Gen) for $100

If you want to get a seventh generation iPad Nano without breaking the bank, eBay seller VIP Outlet (Arkansas) is offering the seller refurbished 16GB iPod Nano (7th Generation), model MKN02LL/A, for $100 with free shipping. It comes with a 90-day warranty from them, and a 30-day return policy. Limit up to five per customer.

Seller-refurbished is typically higher risk than manufacturer-refurbished which is typically factored in the prices.

The 7th generation Nano is the first to use the new Lightning connector. It also has a headphone jack, and supports bluetooth 4.0. For more on the Nanos, dig into Wikipedia.

Still good: KZ ZS6 In-Ears for $29 w/free S&H from China

Some of the 11/11 deals are still sticking around. For example, the black and red color schemes of the KZ ZS6 in-ears continue to go for $29 with free slow shipping from China at GearBest (for the longest time I thought it was GearBeast).

Meanwhile the KZ5 in-ears start at $18 (gray, no mic) and increase slightly based on color and mic. A number of their other earphones also continue to be on sale.

Note that this is slow shipping from China and the holidays will add to the delays, so if you are planning to use these as holiday gifts, it may be a good idea to have a Plan B to be on the safe side.

FRESHeBUDS Pro magnetic bluetooth earphones for $24

It’s all things magnetic at Stacksocial! From the iSine 10 planar-magnetics to the plain magnetic outer surface FRESHeBUDS Pro magnetic bluetooth earphones on sale for $24! This is the “PRO” model. Their non-PRO non-magnetic model is also on sale, going for $20. The former ends in about 2 days, while the non-PRO ends in 15 hours from blog posting time. The Audeze ends in about five days.

Audeze iSine 10 Planar In-Ears with Lightning Cable for $320

Look at who’s making their Stacksocial debut with a launch discount? Audeze! Their new condition iSine 10 Planar In-Ears with the Lightning + Standard cable for $320 with free shipping instead of the regular price of $400. Only the Lightning version is on sale. The regular version remains at $280. So for $40 more you get the flexibility of using it with latest iPhones, iPads (3rd gen iPad was the last with a 30-pin) and iPods (4th generation iPod Touch was the last one with a 30-pin).

No coupon is needed, but if you have any of those or store credits you may be able to use them towards the purchase. I don’t have any to test it.

Speaking of Stacksocial, they are offering the new condition Sphereo X2 Speakers for $30.

Dell AE2 Performance USB Headset for $40

Tracker Updated: Black Friday Circular Ads of 2017

I just updated the Black Friday 2017 Ads Tracker that lists various headphone and earphone and headset offers at various retailers. I am grouping these by product type, not by retailer, making it easier for people to look for the product categories they like. Among the latest additions was Gamestop with a handful of different gaming headsets…

Here is a partial screenshot sample of the tracking page:

3 Months of Amazon Music Unlimited for 99c

Just like every major company it seems has or wants or wanted a TV service, everyone also has a music service. Amazon has a few of them. Their premium service is called Music Unlimited, and for a limited time, they are offering a 3 Month Prepaid Subscription for $1 total. If you don’t cancel before it expires, it will auto-convert to a paying subscription. Prime members pay $8/month for it, and non-Prime members pay $10 per month for it.

This is an individual plan and the offer is available for new subscribers only. This is a full service subscription you can use on various available devices and apps. It should not be confused with their “Echo Plan” which costs $4/month and can only be played on an Echo device. Or their oldest of all, their “Prime Music” which is a free music streaming service (2 million songs, a subset a full subscription) that is available for free to all paying Prime members.

Sol Republic Amps Air Truly Wireless for $110

Refurbished Sony WI-1000X Neckband BT Earphones for $200

The Sony WI-1000X neckband bluetooth earphones (that came out at the same time as the WM-1000X M2 over-ears) go for $300 in new condition, but if you don’t want to wait for future sales and want to save some now, you can get them in manufacturer refurbished condition for $200 by Secondipity on eBay and by Secondipity through Amazon (not Prime eligible).

Sony MDR-1000X Closed BT/ANC Over-Ears for $228

We have a new lower price discount cycle for the new condition Sony MDR-1000X closed-back over-ear bluetooth with noise-cancelling headphones, they are now down to $228 with free shipping in either color scheme at Amazon by Amazon actual with up to three per color per customer. Various marketplace sellers also offer them for the same price in case you need more.

You can also find them at these price on eBay, where the World Wide Stereo eBay store has them for the same price.

The main reason why they are on the discounting path is because they are no longer the “latest model”. That title belongs to the $350 Sony WH-1000X M2. Sony rebooting the naming scheme partly because they expanded the “1000X” line-up with earphones as well.

Hifiman HE-350 for $77 w/free S&H [one left]

This was going for $85 the last time we posted about it three weeks ago, but as of the time of writing, the new condition Hifiman HE-350 dynamic over-ear headphones are available at Blinq.com for $77 with free shipping.

Per the listing over there, there is only one unit available…

Blinq is a clearing house type of a seller, they get overstocks, returns and such, and resell them, so there is a higher risk than buying brand new at the major retailers. With risk come rewards, namely lower prices. They also offer a 30-ady return policy.

Monoprice MP5 in-ears for $6 w/free S&H

The Monoprice website is back with another doorbuster, the new condition red-black Monoprice MP5 in-ears is on sale for $6 with free standard US shipping. Sennheiser too is starting to make Black Friday noises. Their new condition Sennheiser HD1 bluetooth neckband earphones are on sale for the very specific price of $144.90 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual. It looks like an automated price-match of two marketplace sellers that have it at the very same price. The earphones average 4 out of 5 based on 65 customer reviews and they have 40 answered questions.

PS: as previously mentioned the HD1 Closed Over-Ears are on sale for $250.

Hifiman HE-400i Planar Magnetics drop to $219

The Hifiman HE-400i planar-magnetic headphones were released prior to the HE-400S. But they both settled in an overlapping price range the last few weeks. Now the HE-400I has gone further down, going for $219 by Hifiman on eBay (you can buy as many as you want) and by various at Amazon including Electronics Expo and the Hifiman store, both of these fulfilled by Amazon.

On the used front, the Hifi Heaven eBay store has them as a USED customer return “Like New” for $180, while at Amazon Warehouse Deals there are various “Used – Very Good” listings by AWD for $175~.

Soundmagic PL50 in-ears for $39

The Hifiman eBay store offers the Soundmagic PL50 in-ears for $50 but the Hifiman Amazon store undercuts themselves by offering them for $39 with free shipping. These are fulfilled by Amazon, so Prime members get free 2-day shipping. They average 3.1 out of 5 based on a not-so-lucky 13 customer reviews. The complaints are about construction and durability, the praise for the sound.

Hifiman RE-600S V2 Songbird In-Ears for $99

The Songbird is a discount bird 🙂 The new condition Hifiman RE-600S V2 Songbird In-Ears are now down to $99 by the Hifiman official store thru Amazon (Prime eligible) and also through eBay where their official eBay store is having an early sale of a few (but not all) of their products.

Free After Mail-In Rebate: Rosewill RCW-H9007 6 ft. Digital Coaxial Audio Cable (M/M)

Don’t do this if you hate mail-in rebates! But if you are a seasoned pro of mail-in rebates, NewEgg is offering this Rosewill RCW-H9007 6 ft. Digital Coaxial Audio Cable Male to Male for FREE after an $8 mail-in rebate. You pay $8 at checkout. Free shipping. Sales tax is not included in the mail-in rebate, so that’s on you.

The offer ends Thursday night or earlier if sold out. Limit one mail-in rebate per household. A PDF with the rebate details is available below the egg-y “Add to Cart” button.

Yuin PK2 earbuds for $63 (Prime shipping)

The Hifiman store offers the Yuin PK2 actual earbuds for $79, but if you want to pay less and receive them faster, a couple of fulfilled by Amazon marketplace sellers (free 2-day Prime shipping) are offering them for $63 with free shipping at amazon.com. I haven’t heard of either marketplace seller, but because the order is “fulfilled by Amazon”, it makes returns, shipping, payment issues, and such much easier since you just talk to Amazon’s regular customer service. You don’t have to “fight” with the marketplace sellers directly.

HifiMan Mega Mini Media Player for $99 [three color options]

More action in the Hifiman eBay store, the more expensive Portable Music Players were too embarrassed of the lower price of this model to have it under their DAP category so instead they pushed it to the “Other” category. Yes, the Otherization of DAPs!

Okay, silliness aside, the new condition HifiMan Mega Mini Media Player is on sale for $99 with free shipping by the Hifiman official ebay store in your choice of silver or gold or gray color schemes.

This can take microSD cards (often called “TF” in Asian tech specs) up to 256GB, and can play up to DSD. They have a long product description over there on the eBay listing, including a Q&A that answers the question whether it “requires a break-in”. I’m afraid to say that the only way to properly break in audio equipment is to use $999 audio cables, play alternative whale songs and pink noise, while wearing the headphones upside down and singing opera. This is known!

Hifiman Edition S Open/Closed Dynamic On-Ears for $129

The Hifiman eBay store is getting an early start on the Black Friday festivities, they have also discounted their open/closed Hifiman Edition S headphones from $149 to $129 in the black color scheme.

If you prefer to shop at Amazon, or if you want either color scheme, fear not, there are multiple Amazon listings on them for $129 and Prime eligible offered by the Hifiman Amazon store at these prices.

These are dynamic on-ear headphones. Their claim to fame is the “open/close” option which is fairly rare.

PS: the white color scheme’s name includes “lightning” in it. It’s part of the name. It does NOT have a lightning cable connector for Apple devices. To paraphrase REM, it’s part of the “Adventures in Chi-Fi” 🙂

The shape looks familiar but I’m not sure which of the other brands are its “cousins”.
