The V-Moda Crossfade M100 were replaced by the “Crossfade Wireless”, a bluetooth over-ear set that took over the mantle at the $300 price. You can get it for $270 instead of $300 in the Gunmetal Black color-scheme and for $280 in two other color options. The red is the only one not on sale. These are at Amazon, by Amazon actual, with a limit of three per color per customer. They average 4.6 out of 5 based on 150+ customer reviews. They also play music via a standard 3.5mm input, they not Bluetooth-exclusive. They promise 100% recharge in 100 minutes.

Tuesday Lightning Deals: Jaybird BlueBuds X Sports BT, Bluedio BT, Sennheiser HD 218i

We have another round of headphones scheduled to be part of the Lightning Deals at Amazon’s for Tuesday 3/1/16. I do not know what the sales prices will be ~ those are revealed over there as each offer goes live. Each offer typically lasts four hours but not always. The schedule is as follows:

* starts 11am Eastern: JayBird BlueBuds X Sport Bluetooth In-Ears (Camo color scheme)

* starts 12pm Eastern: Sennheiser HD 218i On Ears

* starts 3pm Eastern: Bluedio Model B2 Colour Bluetooth over/on ears

* also a couple of other Audio items throughout the day (Pioneer 7.2 AVR BT, Braven BT, etc)

Used Tenqa FIT Bluetooth Earbuds (Exercise) for $9~

I did a lot of groundwork today to organize the way I track the various Amazon deals, and as a result of that, there’s a handful of potential deals that I have earmarked. I’ll have to go through them and prepare posts for the ones that survive price-checks (probably Sunday night), but in the mean time, I am posting some of the used items that have only one left, before they get scooped up.

The sporty Tenqa FIT Bluetooth Earbuds go for $69 in new condition, but as of the time of writing, there is one unit in what is described as “Used – Acceptable” condition for around $9 (nine dollars) by Amazon Warehouse Deals. There is no detailed description of its condition. The “acceptable” condition means higher risk. I don’t know if $9 was a price-typo or it is in really bad shape.

These average 3.1 out of 5 based on 150 customer reviews, so that’s another risk factor to consider. Since AWD is the actual seller, they are eligible for free 2-day shipping for Prime members. Thankfully they are not putting “Add On” restrictions on Used products [don’t give them any ideas!]

V-MODA Crossfade M-100 (white/silver) for $204 [updated]

UPDATE (2/27/16): the Matte Black color scheme is available in “Used – Good” condition (cosmetic imperfections, damaged original packaging) for $149~ by Amazon Warehouse Deals actual (Prime eligible).

The burst of Sennheiser posts below is because I did a price check of most of their wired over/on-ears, but the world does not revolve around Sennheiser. There are many and more brands. Going down in price at the moment is the white-silver color-scheme of the wired closed over-ear V-MODA Crossfade M-100 [corrected the link!], $204 with free shipping at Amazon, with a limit of five per customer. The other two colors are $227+. This is new condition from Amazon actual.

The introduction of their Wireless (Bluetooth) over-ear is pushing down the prices of their wired models, which is hooray if you are not interested in bluetooth. But if you are interested in Bluetooth, but don’t want to pay the $300 new condition price, the used prices start at $225 at Amazon Warehouse Deals. The link shows the lowest price per color. To see more options for a particular color, select its picture thumbnail or click on the link that says “See all offers for this product”. If you are not familiar with the Warehouse Deals pages, they can be overwhelming, take a deep breath, and slowly “index” it 🙂

Philips SHB9250/27 Bluetooth On-Ears for $100

The $100 price point appears to be a target for multiple brand-name manufacturers of bluetooth on-ears, as the competition intensifies from the low-brand-awareness (and unknown brands) that are flirting with consumers at the under $50 level. Which brings us to the Philips SHB9250/27 Bluetooths dropping to $100 with free shipping, with a limit of five pairs per customer at this price, at Amazon by Amazon actual. They average 3.9 out of 5 based on 14 customer reviews. They are of the flat folding kind.

Polk Audio AM4220-A Hinge Bluetooth On-Ears for $100

For a limited time the “blue” (looks more brown than blue from the picture) color scheme of the Polk Audio AM4220-A Hinge Bluetooth on-ear headphone is on sale for $100 with free shipping, with a limit of three per customer at Amazon by Amazon actual. Only this color scheme is on sale. The other two remain at $150. They have three 5-customer reviews, one is a long one, one from a non-english-speaking composer, and the third the classic 1-liner. Per the specs there, this supports aptX, AAC and has NFC.

YMMV B&M Clearance: Craig Over-Ear Bluetooths for $6

This is a YMMV clearance sale at Office Depot or Office Max brick and mortar (B&M) stores. The Craig over-ear bluetooth headphones are on a clearance sale for around $6 per pair. I forgot to write down the model number when I saw them. The sale is not on their website, only B&M that may have them… I could be wrong, but from what I recall, they are this Craig model (I could be wrong, I am only going from visual memory)…

LUXA2 Lavi S Bluetooth Over Ears w/built-in speakers for $24

If you like to checkout gadgety type of headphones, the LUXA2 Lavi S Bluetooth Over Ears with external speakers built into the outside of the earcups (!), are on sale for $24 per pair at Amazon by Amazon actual. There is a catch though, the shipping estimate is currently 1-2 months.

There are four different headphone models on the same product page, so the review average is not necessarily indicative. Of the 140 customer reviews, 59 of them are for this particular model. You can see them here in this filtered review list for this particular option. Unfortunately the filtered review lists do not show a star rating average, and my brain is not fast enough to quickly calculate an average based on 59 of them 🙂

Start Wedn 10pm ET: Mpow Streambot Bluetooth Audio Receiver Sale

Wednesday has something of potential interest in the schedule of the Gold Box at Amazon. It will start late on Wednesday, at 10pm Eastern (7pm pacific). It will be the Mpow Streambot Box with Bluetooth 4.0 and apt-X and NFC support. It gives you a Bluetooth receiver which you can use any which way you like. The most common use of these is to let existing non-Bluetooth speakers or headphones receive audio over bluetooth. The price before the sale is $25. It averages 4.3 out of 5 based on 90+ customer reviews, and if you are curious about it, it has 30 questions peer-answered over there.

Basically, one way to use it is this: plug this into your existing RCA-input or 3.5mm input speakers. Pair this (“this” being the Mpow Bluetooth critter in this deal) with your smartphone or tablet, play music on your phone/tablet, and hear it through your speakers. If you are planning to pair it with multiple devices, NFC is really handy because you don’t have to worry about various devices “fighting” over the bluetooth connection.

TDK WR680 Bluetooth On-Ears for $22

On the budget side of brand-name bluetooth with NFC closed-back on-ears with wired 3.5mm input as well, the TDK WR680 are now down to $22 in either black or white color schemes, sold by marketplace sellers, but the orders are fulfilled by Amazon, so you get free 2-day shipping if you are a Prime member. If not, it’s usual $35+ super-saver-shipping. Fulfilled by Amazon also has the benefit of dealing with Amazon Customer Support versus dealing with the marketplace sellers directly.

Refurbished Plantronics BackBeat Go 2 Bluetooth earbuds for $25 plus shipping

The latest daily deals at Woot include the refurbished Plantronics BackBeat Go 2 Bluetooth earbuds (model 89800-41), on sale for $25 plus shipping. They are available in either black or white color options, with a limit of up to three per customer. Per the listing there, they come with a 90 day warranty from Woot, not Plantronics. Offer ends by 1am eastern on Tuesday 2/9/16.

MEE audio Air-Fi Venture AF52 for $34.99 (limit 3)

If you need a pair of bluetooth headphones and don’t mind waiting for a few days to receive them, it looks like Amazon is beating the current price of Massdrop for the MEE audio Air-Fi Venture AF52 offered them for $34.99, with a limit of three per customer. That extra penny is important if you are not a Prime member, because free shipping is with a $35+ order (add a cable or other trinket to get to $35+, add-on items are eligible as well for this purpose).

The headphones average 4 out of 5 based on over 330 customer reviews, and have over 80 questions answered, so there are plenty of knowns about them. They also play music via 3.5mm, so you are not stuck musicless if they run out of battery (built-in, needed for Bluetooth).

PS: “MEE audio” is the new name for “ME Electronics”. I’m not sure the new name is an improvement. It’s like “Logitech” becoming “Logi”. At least it keeps the marketing people busy 🙂
