So this is a clever way to sell, non-Prime members can buy some of the Prime deals _away_ from Amazon ^_^

Speaking of Bose, Amazon is also offering the new condition Bose SoundSport Free Truly Wireless in the limited edition ultraviolet color scheme for $139. Only this color scheme is on sale. The others remain at $139…

UPDATE: this headphone is now part of the Prime Deals for $90 in either color but non-Prime members can still get it for $100…

If you are looking for a usable ANC and bluetooth over-ears combo from a name-brand but don’t want to pay the $300 to get the much talked about models, there’s a deal for you too. For just $100 you can get the new condition Sony WH-CH700N ANC/Bluetooth Over-Ears. This is sold and shipped by Amazon itself. You can buy up to three pairs at the sale price. Only the black color scheme is on sale.

NOTE: this is not a Prime Day deal ~ all Amazon customers can buy it!

And as fate would have it, we have a text and pictures unboxing of this headphone right here. I did not finish the review for it, but for $100, this is not a bad deal.

Prime Day deal: Microsoft Surface headphone for $190

Everybody it seems is trying their hands at headphones these days, so it was only a matter of time before we got a “Surface” headphone. This typically went for $250 on sale, but if you had been waiting for a sale, you can thank Prime Day 2019, because the new condition model is currently on sale for $190 for Prime members only…

This is trying to compete with the hard-fought $300-ish crew of name-brand closed-back over-ear headphones with ANC and bluetooth. In this case, the bluetooth is version 4.2. This averages 3.8 out of 5 based on nearly 100 customer reviews and it has over 50 answered-questions by viewers like you…

Prime Day deal: Beats Solo3 On-Ears for $140

The Prime Deals for 2019 are under-way and one item that may sellout early due to popularity is the new condition Beats Solo3 on-ears (closed-back, wireless (bluetooth)) going for $140 with free shipping in the black color scheme. This is the Matte black color scheme.

All together these average 4.1 out of 5 based on 2850 customer reviews and have 1000+ answered questions and have triggered 1000+ audiophiles on head-fi and reddit ^_^

For almost all Prime Day 2019 deals, you have to be a number. BUT if you are not and you want to join the spending-spree party, all you have to do is start a free 30-day TRIAL of Prime and you are in the party.

This is just the first of many posts and round-ups for Prime Day 2019. Amazon Germany also has a crazy number of headphones in their offers. I will posting as I can in the next few hours. Stay tuned!

Friday (EU): Paww Silksound headband headphones for 42 euro

Good for Friday 7/12/19 in the German time zone is an Amazon.de Gold Box deal of the day on the new condition Paww Silksound headband headphones for 42 euro with free shipping within Germany and/or associated regions. In the place of the traditional earcups the headband thickness a bit more and there are the speaker protrusions. They also fold and fit in the included “half moon” case. Also included is a 3.5mm audio cable and microUSB to USB charging cable…

As far as I can recall, I haven’t used any headband headphones. The closest I got was the smaller form factor B&O Play Form 2i and the good old Panasonic HT-21 lightweight on-ears [and assorted models of that style]…

EU: MPOW H7 Bluetooth Closed Over-Ears for 20 euro

The various market fluctuations (tariffs, trade wars, currency fluctuations) are causing some Chi-Fi products to be available at a lower price in the EU than in the USA. Historically this had been the opposite. Such as the case for this budget bluetooth headphone, it is the new condition MPOW H7 closed over-ears with “powerful bass” and “CVC 6.0 NC microphone” and up to “18 hours battery life” going for just 20 euro with free shipping for Germany Prime members or with a 29+ order in Germany and/or nearby eligible regions.

FREE Sony WH-1000X M3 ANC/BT Over-Ears with Sony Xperia 1 flagship preorder

Most smartphone manufacturers include some kind of a budget but flashy sounding earphone with their flagship purchase (eg the AKG-branded earphones of the Galaxy models). But Sony, desperate to make a dent in the smartphone now, looking at an opportunity now with the Huawei problems, is throwing in their most popular headphone for free with pre-orders of their new flagship Xperia 1 flagship smartphone.

The free headphones of the bundle are none other than the closed-back WH-1000X M3 ANC with bluetooth over-eras which range from $300 (on sale) to $350 (their default price)…

The Xperia 1 and the included headphones both support LDAC, mayhaps the ideal test setup for LDAC Audio since it is Sony’s brainchild. The phone has a 6.5 inch (21:9) OLED, Snapdragon 855, Android 9, 128GB on-board storage, 6GB RAM, microSD (up to 512GB), Bluetooth 5.0, “Hi-Res Audio”, Dolby Atmos, etc…

The price is $950 with or without the headphones and the offer is available for a limited time at select authorized Sony USA dealers such as Amazon actual and New York’s B&H Photo

NOTE that Amazon breaks down the prices of the bundle differently to prevent people from buying the bundle with the free headphones and then returning/cancelling the order and keeping the headphones 🙂

This week: Sennheiser HD 6XX for $200 again with Massdrop Email Click Coupon

Good until Sunday of this week (according to my calendaring math that would be Sunday July 7 in 2019), there’s a Massdrop email that promotes a $20 off discount on the Sennheiser HD 6XX.

When you click on the link in that email and go to your Massdrop account (already logged in), it will apply automatically a $20 off discount towards the purchase of the open-back over-ear Sennheiser HD 6XX, dropping it from $220 to $200, which was its original price.

There’s no coupon code to enter ~ the discount appears automagically in your shopping cart AFTER you click on the special link in the Massdrop email…

It’s still a bit of a miracle they hadn’t increased the HD 6XX to get closer to the HD 600 / 650 prices 🙂

Tribit X-Free Tune Bluetooth Over-Ears for $38 AC

It’s not a big discount but it’s not a headphone that drops dramatically either. It’s one of the “Amazon hits”, the new condition Tribit X-Free Tune bluetooth over-ears are down to $40 but that’s not all, they also have a 5% off clip-on coupon, dropping them down to $38 with free shipping. This is for the black color scheme… The black/red color scheme goes for slightly more but it is not eligible for the clip-on coupon [if you don’t see the coupon on the product page and get invited to e-clip it, it means it’s not eligible]…

PS: there’s no mention of NFC in the product description, so assume it doesn’t have it unless you know for certain [see: what’s the point of NFC in bluetooth headphones].

Hifiman Ananda Open Over-Ear planars for $849

EU: Sony Extra Bass XB-550 Closed On-Ears for 29+ euro

If you need some _EXTRA_ bass in your life, and you are shopping from Amazon Germany, they currently have a sale on the various colors of the new condition closed-back Sony Extra Bass XB-550 AP headphones. Prices start at 29 euro for the red color scheme and increase slightly for the other colors…

PS: AP stands for “Android Phone” and it is the 1-button remote with mic cable. These appear to be on-ears although when I put them on at a store they felt somewhere between an over- and an on-ear. And the headband adjusted with plenty of room to spare on my big head [in comparison, I can just barely squeeze comfortably in the good old Monoprice 8323s]…

V-Moda Crossfade Wireless Closed Over-Ears for $100 [updated]

Grab your e-wallets! For a limited time, Amazon actual is offering the new condition V-Moda Crossfade Wireless closed-back over-ear headphones for $100 with free shipping. Limit up to three per customer at the sale price. Only the gunmetal color scheme is this low. The in-stock estimate is July 2nd, so this offer is starting to run out ~ don’t sleep on it if you are interested!

This headphone averages 4.3 out of 5 based on 720+ customer reviews and it has 240+ answered questions. A second second-generation model has been released, the Codex edition but it costs over $300.

Note that this $100 model does not have the double-folding technology (marketing name: cliqfold) found in the original wired Crossfade and the second generation Wireless. Note also that it does not support apt-X or apt-X HD. Heck, even among the first second-generation Wireless 2 models, only the “Rose Gold” color scheme supported apt-X. It was only with the second second-generation models, “the Codex”, that all three color schemes supported apt-X.

These headphones do have a 3.5mm input and from what people are saying, the wired performance of the wired and the wireless models is on par.

Having said all that, keep in mind that this is a headphone that people were enthusiastically buying for $300, so at one third of the price a number of its “comparative sins” may be forgiven…

[DEAD] EU: V-Moda Crossfade wired over-ears for 76 euro

UPDATE (early 6/30/19)
All the options under 100 euro have now sold out…

Monoprice sale w/FUSS: M650 Open Over-Ears $120, Mega Tube Amp for $340, MP10 IEMs for $8, Etc

All the offers mentioned in this post below include free standard US shipping as of the time of writing of this post…

Monoprice is running another headphone-related sale with a variety of products, big and small. From small earphones to boulder-sized amplifiers 🙂

+ speaking of which, the Monolith Tube Headphone amplifier with ESS Sabre DAC is going for $340

+ Monolith M650 open-back over-ears for $120
+ the M600 and M650 are not planar-magnetic; you are correct, the model names are an “homage” to certain “Heiser” headphones ^_^

+ metal headphone stand for $18

+ MP-10 in-ears for $8
+ yes, despite the low price, you still get free standard US shipping while this promotion is running ~ after all IEMs can ship easily and don’t take up lots of space and can probably be shipped easily even with USPS first class mail [only guessing here, I have no clue how they will ship these]

+ Retro over-ears for $22.49
+ you are correct if it reminds you of a certain Superlux/Samson headphone 🙂

+ Monoprice 8323 with bluetooth for $23
+ the good old model now with bluetooth (and apt-X). I haven’t seen this new model but I had the 8323 and larger heads were not an easy fit. It also expands a bit strangely on your head, so if you are image-conscious note that when you are using it at coffee shops and libraries and such

PS: “FUSS” = Free US shipping and handling…
