PS: I have began a mini dive into Amazon Warehouse Deals so more things may surface in the next few minutes.

TDK WR680 On-Ears (Bluetooth) for $20

We have a couple of back to back basic bluetooth on-ear headphones, think more utility than audiophility (new word, because as they say, language is a living thing), starting with a white-red color scheme of the TDK bluetooth WR680 On-Ears going for $20. These are sold by a marketplace seller (looks like they has 16 units available) with the order fulfilled by Amazon.

TIP: in situations like these, with one marketplace seller offering something in limited quantity, it likely means that these are available at only one Amazon Warehouse, so non-Prime shipping estimate will vary wildly depending on how close you are to the warehouse that has them. And “close” is a relative term, in terms of delivery times, not close as in distance in miles, because of the way the whole shipping delivery system is setup (hubs, airports, regional carriers, pricing, etc, etc).

LG Electronics Gruve On-Ears (Bluetooth) for $34

On the simple folding bluetooth on-ears front, the black color scheme of the LG Gruve (that’s their spelling, not my misspelling) are currently on sale for $34~ with a limit of three units per customer at Amazon by Amazon actual. They average 4.1 out of 5 based on 60+ customer reviews and have 20+ questions answered. They also play music via a standard 3.5mm audio input, not just Bluetooth.

Audio Technica M50x & $30 Vudu credit & 3mo Rhapsody for $99

A multimedia bundle on eBay by the BuyDig.com eBay store, they are offering the Audio Technica M50x in new condition, in the black or white color scheme, bundled with a $30 Vudu store credit and a 3-month subscription to the Rhapsody Premiere music service, all together for $99 with free shipping. Limit five bundles per customer.

The Vudu credit is self explanatory, but I don’t know if the 3-month Rhapsody subscription is for new customers only (like Google Play All Access does their promotions) or it can be appended to an existing subscription for existing Rhapsody paying subscribers.

Price updated in post on 4/25/16… The strangeness of pricing on AWD. Some items trickle downwards, others trickle upwards. I am sure there is a method to the madness, I just may not be able to see it 🙂

Philips SHP 9500 Open-Back for $60

NewEgg’s attempt at a Groupon-like shopping service (for physical goods, not the local and travel stuff) is NewEggFLASH, and their flash site is having on sale for a limited time (ends next Thursday) the Philips SHP 9500 open-back over-ears for $60 with free shipping, with a limit of 30 pairs per customer. Maxell Lightweight On-Ears for $3 [limit 5]

Flashback back to the Walkman cassette era with these lightweight Maxell On-Ear headphones currently on sale in new condition for $3 per pair at Amazon actual with a limit of five per customer. As you can guess by the lowness of the price, there is a catch, they are an Add-On item, so the shopping cart will not let you buy them unless your order total is $25+. These average 3.8 out of 5 based on 88 customer reviews.

Creative Aurvana Live! for $48

The exclamation point is officially part of the model name, the closed-back over-ear Creative Aurvana Live! is going for $48 with free shipping by multiple sellers, including Amazon actual (look at the detailed listings as some sellers play the game of discounting by a penny or two so they can appear ahead of other sellers). These average 4.3 out of 5 based on 260+ customer reviews.

Sony MDR-7506 currently goes for $80 (don’t buy it for more)

The closed-back over-ear studio Sony MDR-7506 headphones currently go for $80 at authorized dealers (eg Amazon actual), so there’s no reason to buy it for more.

The reason I’m posting this is because there’s a high profile eBay Daily Deals listing from a non-authorized dealer (imported with seller warranty) selling it for $95 and over 1000 people bought it from them. Not sure why people are paying more for it and not getting a Sony USA warranty.

The $80 price is also available at Jet, however, the same caution applies, Jet won’t tell you who the seller is ahead of time, and sometimes they decide on the seller based on your location, so you are not guaranteed to receive a unit from an authorized dealer that will get you a Sony USA warranty.

Sennheiser GAME ONE for $128

If you are a fan of gaming headphones, the Sennheiser GAME ONE, the white-black-red color-scheme is currently on sale for $128 with free shipping, in new condition, at NewEgg and Amazon with a limit of five per customer at each retailer. At the latter this averages 4.4 out of 5 based on nearly 300 customer reviews.

Sennheiser HD 650 + M-Audio AV32 Monitors + Blue Yeti USB Mic for $500

If you happen to need all three of these (sounds like an NBA play by play line?), then this is a good deal, $500 gets you these three new condition items: the open-back Sennheiser HD 650 headphones, the M-Audio AV32 10W Studio Monitor speakers, and the Blue Microphones Yeti USB Microphone at Amazon by Amazon actual.

The speakers currently go for $100 and the Yeti for $130 (Sting is still looking for him), making the HD650 a very reasonable $270. Now if you don’t need (or can sell/trade/gift) the two extras, then it becomes a more complicated decision.

This is not the only bundle offer, there are more Sennheiser + Gifts/Bundles offers running at Amazon.

[DEAD] Ends Thursday 7pm ET: Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ears Lightning Sale for $250 [Lowest Prices before the sale around $230]

This turned out to be a goofy thing as the Lightning Deal price of $250 was higher than most of the current prices of the other color/OS combos. It looks like Amazon needs to adjust their pricing algorithms when having lightning deals of items that are already discounted or price-matched in other color schemes, otherwise they won’t generate sales and/or have unhappy customers…. A new post summarizing the best current non-lightning deal prices is coming…

Used w/full warranty Hifiman HE-1000 for $2500 [updated]

While we are on the top of Hifimans, their new condition HE-1000 flagships go for $3000, but if you want to shave some of that off, you can get them in used condition (customer return, less than 10 hours use, full warranty, authorized dealer) per the eBay listing of RazorDog Audio on eBay. It ships from Minnnessssoootttaa ~ a good way to cover up not remembering how to properly spell it 😉 Only one unit is available. Best offer is not enabled.

UPDATE: that particular eBay listing expired, but a new one got started. The post is now updated with the new eBay listing.

Open-box HIFIMAN Edition X planars for $1500

The planar-magnetic Hifiman Edition X headphones are currently available in open-box condition by seller “HiDef Style” (100%, 8896 ratings) thru Amazon.

Paradigm Shift H15 drop to $103

Many and more headphones are being ushered in the market as their popularity increases these days. And with many models come discounts. Which brings us to the folding and fluffy Paradigm Shift H15 going down to $103 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual. They have only one review so far.

Meanwhile the active noise cancelling version, the H15nc model goes for $165~ with free shipping at Amazon or for $105~ in “Used – Very Good” condition by Amazon Warehouse Deals.

Used V-Moda M100 Over-Ears for $150 (no accessories)

If you are not a perfectionist and have plenty of accessories, seller “Cellular Stream” (97%, 3921 ratings) is offering the white-silver color-scheme of the closed-back over-ear V-Moda Crossfade M100 headphones for $150 in “Used – Acceptable” condition. The listing says you get the headphones only, no other accessories and even though the units are fully functional, they have signs of wear, scratches, scuffs, minor cracks, etc. Given the solid construction of the M100s, this may be a risk some may be willing to take. This is fulfilled by Amazon, so if you have problems with it, you deal with Amazon’s customer service and returns, not the seller directly.

PS: the link above shows the prices for the white-silver model. The other colors go for more: see lowest price per color. See detailed listings for each color by clicking the “See all offers for this product”.

Refurbished or Open Box Beyerdynamic T90 Tesla for $419

There are two choices at Amazon Warehouse Deals on the Beyerdynamic T90 Tesla headphones. The AKG Pro Audio K167 TIESTO DJ Headphones are currently on sale for $59 with free shipping, with a limit of three pairs per customer during this sale at Amazon by Amazon actual.

This is very close in price to the lower tier K67 which goes for $48 there and at Massdrop.

Grain Audio OEHP On-Ears for under $129

The Grain Audio on-ear headphones currently go for $129 with free shipping at Stacksocial. Use weekend coupon TAXES for a surprise discount. A 10% discount would make these $116~ and so forth. Per the listing, these have “FSC-certified solid walnut enclosures”.

In other action, the third generation Bedphones Sleep Headphones go for $50 before coupon. A 10% off discount will make them $45 and so forth… Note however that these are getting a 3.2 out of 5 based on 160 customer reviews at amazon.

JLab Flex Over-Ears for under $50 with coupon

Stacksocial.com has a new coupon, enter TAXES in your shopping cart to get a surprise discount. The percentage will vary by users. I got a 10% off discount when I added it to the shopping cart. The JLab Flex Over-Ear headphones go for $50 with free shipping before the coupon. If you get a 10% off discount, that makes it $45. If you get a 20% off discount, that makes it a $40. I don’t know what the other discount options are, but their shopping cart will do the math for you 🙂

The coupon is good for this weekend, one of the many retailers doing the “tax relief” promotions aka “spend your refund with us” or get some “retail therapy” to take the sting out of owing the IRS even more 🙂

Stacksocial doesn’t have reviews, but you can find 13 of them at amazon.com where they go for $70 and average 4.6 out of 5 based on a lucky 13 customer reviews. The “Flex” in their name is because they twist and flex (see pictures/videos).

For other headphones and earphones at Stacksocial, check their headphone search listings.

Sennheiser HD7 PRO + 88-key Yamaha P45 Digital Piano + OnStage Stand/Bench bundle for $460

Offer ends 5/5/16 or earlier if sold out.

Panasonic RP-HT21 Lightweight Open On-Ears for $5 w/free S&H

And now we head to the other end of the price spectrum, the good old lightweight Panasonic RP-HT21 on-ears are on sale at Jet.com for $5 with free shipping. Their shopping cart has a built-in volume discount, if you are increase the quantity, the price drops by about a quarter for each additional unit.

Not much info is available at Jet, but these have over 3200 customer reviews at amazon.com with an average of 4.3 out of 5. Note that these are open-back headphones, so there is leakage in both directions.

Note also that Jet fulfills orders of their own and also farm them out to various other sellers throughout the country. Unlike Amazon that shows upfront who the actual seller is, you won’t see it on the Jet website unless you are about ready to place the order. It may not be an issue for a $5 pair of headphones but if you are buying something expensive or something that you want to have warranty from an authorized dealer, this is something to pay attention to.
