In-Stock Now: Moshi Avanti AIR Bluetooth On-Ears

I am also updating the Headphone Tracker with some of the more interesting or serious NEW headphones from CES 2018 and during this update, one of these new models is now in-stock and shipping, of early adopter and reviewer interest perhaps, it is the new condition Moshi Avanti AIR bluetooth on-ears going for $300 with free shipping, sold by the official Moshi Amazon store, with the orders fulfilled by Amazon

This Moshi video shows it from various angles…

xDuoo TA-01 DAC/Amp for $120 w/free S&H [MD]

Running for the next four days and change (as of posting time here), you can get the new condition xDuoo TA-01 DAC/Amp for $120 with free US shipping at the members-only but free-to-join Massdrop. These will ship in late February 2018 from Massdrop, with all sales final. There is no mention of warranty in the listing.

They take RCA and USB audio inputs, and output audio via RCA or a 1/4″ headphone jack. There is only one pair of RCA, its use depends on the audio situation (they are an input for the headphone-amp, and an output for the DAC).

MEE Audio M6* Earphone Grab Bag for $15 w/FS [MD]

If you like the semi-randomness of “grab bags” and you are a fan of MEE Audio, then you may be interested to learn that Massdrop is back with another MEE Audio Grab Bag Earphone promotion running for the next four days and change (from blog posting date here).

You pay $14 with free US shipping and for that you are guaranteed to randomly receive one out of three M6-series earphones, the M6 (60%), or the M6B (bluetooth; 25%), or the “M6 PRO” (15%). The “M6 PRO” is the big get of this group, but only a 15% chance.

Each member can buy up to two grab bags. Each one is randomly decided, so there’s no guarantee you will get two different models. Especially since 60% off shoppers will get the M6. They also offer a few “prizes” unlocked based on how many units get sold.

These will ship in late February 2018, with all sales final. There is no mention of warranty in the listing.

AKG Y55 Closed DJ On-Ears for $50 w/free S&H

A previous incarnation of these (K61X on-ear series) had build quality issues, but judging by the 20+ customer reviews at Amazon, it looks like they may have fixed them with this version, and they now have a detachable cable instead. They are on the compact side of things (so big head beware) and on the tastefully-bassy side of things (if they carry over the sound signature from the K61X on-ear series).

“It” refers to the red color scheme of the AKG Y55 DJ-branded closed-back over-ears, on sale for $50 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual.

PS: these should not be confused with the AKG K-series closed-back over-ears in the K5XX series.

Used Bravo Audio V1 Tube Driven Headphone Amp for $43

If you are tube-curious, there is one listing of the Bravo Audio V1 Tube Driven Headphone Amplifier in “Used – Good” condition (repackaged) offered for $43~ with free shipping, sold by Amazon Warehouse Deals actual. The new condition price there is $75+, so it’s a pretty decent used discount, considering AWD offers a 30-day return policy.

VAVA MOOV 25 Bluetooth Apt-X IPX6 Earphones for $30

The “Vava” brand is one of the brands by fulfilled-by-Amazon seller “Sunvalley Brands” which also sells the popular RaVpower portable power banks and USB AC chargers. For a limited time, they have a 25% off clip-on coupon on the product of the new condition VAVA MOOV 25 Bluetooth Apt-X IPX6 Earphones dropping their price from $40 to $30, with free shipping. These average 4.4 out of 5 based on 100+ customer reviews.

PS: it is interesting how all these budget brands can afford to include apt-X, yet some of the big audio manufacturers with prices orders of magnitude higher still don’t have apt-X (let alone apt-X or LDAC or bluetooth 5.0) in their bluetooth headphones.
