With these prices in mind, the Asgard 2 is available in “Used – Good” condition (no further details provided) for $236.57 with free 2-day Prime shipping (for members) by Amazon Warehouse Deals.
The price difference is close until you factor in shipping. For an East Coast zipcode, Schiit’s shipping fees are $16.49 for FedEx Ground, $30 for USPS Priority, $36 for FedEx 2-day. Because Schiit is in Southern California, West Coast shipping is less, for example, $14 USPS, $20 FedEx 2-Day.
Likewise, their PYST RCA cable goes for $20 + shipping on the Schiit website, versus $24 with free 2-day Prime shipping fulfilled by Amazon. Again, the shipping fee and delivery speed is the decider here.
Speaking of Schiit, the ebook co-authored by the two company co-founders remains on sale for $3.82 in Kindle e-book format. This 383-pager is the story of the company, most of which you can also find in parts in the Head-Fi forums ~ which are certainly not as readable or mobile as a Kindle ebook 🙂
