The Sabrent External USB Stereo Sound Adapter is now down to $6 at amazon.com and it is USB powered. It averages 4.3 out of 5 based on 2100+ customer reviews and has 300+ answered questions. This is more of utilitarian interest, than audiophile interest.

If you need more reviews, there is a similarly looking and similarly priced SYBA branded item which is however an Add-On item, so you must place an order of $25+ in order to buy it. This one also averages 4.3 out of 5 based on 3400+ reviews, and has 500+ answered questions. Plenty of details in those two places about it if you want to research them.

Syba SD-DAC63093 Portable Dual Output amp for $30

The Syba SD-DAC63093 portable dual output (two 3.5mm outputs) is currently on sale for $30 with a limit of five per customer at Aamzon by Amazon actual.

Note that physically this looks like the M-Audio Bass Traveler Portable amp which has a regular price of $29. I do not know if they have the same insides.
