Headphone Tracker updated with CES 2018 models

Yes, progress! I have updated the Headphone Tracker with some of the most interesting new headphones that were revealed at CES 2018. A small number of them are available for pre-order, a couple are already shipping, but the vast majority of them are not yet listed at online retailers for ordering. I will be updating the tracker during the next few weeks until most of them are shipping everywhere.

Philips SHP-9500S: New for $50 [updated]

The new condition new condition model is currently in-stock and on sale for $50 with free shipping until Thursday night (or earlier if sold out) by NewEgg actual.

As of 1/22/18 AM recheck, the open-box option is sold out and cannot be ordered. The price remains $38 on the page though… It is back in-stock but not currently on sale. the open-box Philips SHP-9500S are going for $38 with free shipping, sold and shipped by NewEgg actual.… The lowest price I could find on this blog on the open-box option was $30 after coupon.

We have a text and pictures unboxing of these. Eventually I’ll post a detailed review of these but I can’t promise a date because I’ll probably miss it 🙂 Detachable cable as you can see in the picture:

It is worth the price for sure, new or open-box, but in my opinion this headphone got way too overhyped, raising expectations to unrealistic squared 🙂

This design seems to go under many different brands. I have a similar one from another brand with a slightly different outer shell. These are not professional / calibrated things, so do not make life-and-death decisions based on their readings.

The same brand is offering their new condition Tacklife Noise Reduction Safety Ear Muffs for $11, fulfilled by Amazon. They average 4.7 out of 5 based on nearly 60 customer reviews. These are hearing protection only. They do not play music.

These are organic sales, not a lightning deal, so expiration date is unknown.

Another one of the new CES 2018 headphones is now in-stock and ready to ship! In either the black or the blue color schemes, you can get the new condition JLab Epic Sports exercise bluetooth (4.2, apt-X) earphones for $100 with free shipping, sold by the JLab Audio Amazon store, with the orders fulfilled by Amazon, so Prime members get them in two days or so.

As usual with new releases, these are for the early adopters, the “brand fans” and the reviewers. If you don’t need/want them right away, it’s smarter to wait for a few weeks to read more reviews and see whether there’s any discounting.
