[DEAD] Audeze LCD-2 Planar Magnetics for $700
Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Plus for $156
The white color scheme of the more recent Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Plus (the “Plus” is the sign of newness in this case) is currently on sale for $156~ with free shipping with a limit of five units per customer at Amazon by Amazon actual. They average 4.2 out of 5 based on 64 customer reviews.
On the other hand, if you prefer the previous generation model, in new condition but discontinued, the Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro over-ears with their “openeness slider” are on sale for $159 with free shipping, with a limit of five units per customer at Amazon by Amazon actual. They average 4.2 out of 5 based on 180+ customer reviews.
Used Shure SRH-940 for $180
The closed-back over-ear Shure SRH 940 with their shiny silveriness are available in “Used – Like New” condition for $180 by seller “AC Gears” with the order fulfilled by Amazon, so it is Prime-eligible. Next step in price/condition is a refurbished listing for $199 by seller Fique (ships directly from them, no Prime).
Sennheiser HD800 S with $100 Store Credit for $1662
The Sennheiser HD800 S currently goes for $1662.04 at Amazon by Amazon actual (make sure Amazon is the actual seller, not a marketplace seller which sells it for $1 less).
This headphone is part of a promotion that gets you a $100 Amazon Store Credit if you make a $1000+ premium audio purchase from a list of 250+ items. The first link here points to the Amazon’s own listing. The listing in the promotional page points to the default product page which currently features the marketplace seller. Make sure the seller is Amazon actual, otherwise you won’t get the $100 promotional credit (or Sennheiser warranty).
If you qualify for the credit, you will see this box appear magically in the Amazon Checkout page:
You will receive the $100 credit after this order ships, so you have to use it in the future, not against this order. For more on this promotion, check our previous write-up.
Time-wise, this looks like it may be a computerized price-match of the $1661 marketplace seller, so the price may return to $1699 either after some random period of time or when the lower priced listing ends. I have no way of knowing this. The $100 promotional credit is good regardless of $1662 or $1699 as long as Amazon actual is the actual seller.
Earzonk Grado Case with L-Cushions for $20
Speaking of Grados, the Earzonk Grado Case (made by EarZonk) which comes with EarZonk L-Cushions included, is going for $20 with a limit of eight per customer (or there are eight units left), sold by EarZonk with the order fulfilled by Amazon, so it is Prime eligible. It averages 4.6 out of 5 based on 69 customer reviews.
PS: if you only want the L-cushions and don’t need the case, the EarZone L-Cushions go for $10 each, same selling/shipping situation as above. These average 4.4 out of 5 based on 140+ customer reviews.
PSA: Grado sale at NewEgg is NOT from an authorized dealer
Make sure you make an informed decision if you have seen this floating around, the Grado sale currently promoted at NewEgg is NOT from an authorized dealer. The seller is not NewEgg actual, but a marketplace seller with the cutesy name of “ClassyU” which is described as “subsidiary of a large international wholesale company” at their NewEgg profile page. Not only that, but they only have just nine ratings as a NewEgg seller.
They are not listed as an authorized dealer at the (awkwardly designed) Grado Where To Buy page.
If you are not intimately familiar with the NewEgg product pages, where’s what you should look for:

[DEAD] Used Sony MDR-Z7 for $300
As of a late 8/10/16 re-check, this sold out… The Sony MDR-Z7 was offered as a refurbished by Secondipity for $320 (or slightly less during Prime Day and eBay promotions). The refurbished is out of stock, but Secondpity also has it in “Used – Very Good” condition for $300 through Amazon Warehouse Deals. This is repackaged with missing documentation. No warranty on this one. This ships directly from Secondpity so it is not eligible for Prime shipping benefits.
