This expired… Another limited time add-to-cart eBay offer by Secondipity’s store, it is also a manufacturer refurbished item, the Sony PHA-1A portable DAC/amp dropping from $230 to $207 with free shipping. This is a limited time offer.

Beyerdynamic DTX350m Closed On-Ears for $39 New/White or Used/Black [updated]
UPDATE: it is also available in the white color scheme in new condition for less than the new condition of the black color scheme. In white, it goes for $38.50 with free shipping by various on Amazon and by Focus Camera on eBay.
This is the black color scheme: Breaking news alert for bassheads. The Beyerdynamic DTX350m closed-back on-ear headphones (the “m” is important in the name, not to be confused with the “p” we mentioned yesterday) go for $52 in new condition but they are available in “Used – Good” condition for $39 and “Used – Very Good” condition for $41.60 by Amazon Warehouse Deals. The “breaking news” part is that it just got the Wall of Fame blessings of Innerfidelity ~ with video evidence.
NOTE however that 2 out of the 8 customer reviews at amazon.com say that these physically broke, one of the two reviews has pictures of the breaking point, adding another dimension to the “breaking news” 🙂
PS: this is totally in crackpot territory but the similarly looking (but not identical looking) AKG K618/K619 had fragility breakage issues and were basshead headphones.
Used AKG M220 for $49 w/free S&H
The AKG M220 studio headphones (inspired by the K240) have had a fairly limited availability (Massdrop, recently Amazon actual, and marketplace sellers), but enough units have circulated around the shop-o-sphere that they are now available in used condition, more specifically in “Used – Like New” condition, as a Store Demo, going for $49 with free shipping by Audio Watt Store with the order fulfilled by Amazon. The price is exactly $49 which means non-Prime members get free shipping too.
[DEAD] Prime Only: On-Going Round-up of Amazon Warehouse Deals Used Coupon Specials
I forgot to check if the coupon was working yesterday, but as of 7/13/16, this coupon is no longer working. It will be interesting to see how quickly Amazon Warehouse Deals “refills” with used headphones and if/when we’ll get the 20% off again… All the sales below have expired…
Manufacturer Refurbished Sony MDR-Z7 for $320 [4 left; open to all; no coupon]
With many and more audiophiles scouring Amazon Warehouse Deals for good used deals, the manufacturer refurbished Sony MDR-Z7 headphones is also getting “rediscovered” as people are looking for deals. Amazon’s used price is $387 after coupon, but it is handily “defeated” by the Secondipity manufacturer-refurbished option for $320 with free shipping. It ships from Secondipity so it’s not eligible for Prime benefits. There are now only four units left (as of the time of writing).
On the plus side, anyone can buy it, you don’t have to be a Prime member. The AWD coupon does not work on this one.
[DEAD] Flirting with Flagships: Used Sennheiser HDVD 800 Headphone Amplifier with DAC for $1280 with Coupon [PRIME ONLY!]
This too got scooped up during the AWD Shopping Purge by the Attack of the Prime Coupons 🙂
[DEAD] Used Sennheiser IE800 in-ears for $367 w/coupon {PRIME ONLY}
This limited time Prime coupon offer expired…
20% off Amazon Warehouse Deals with coupon (PRIME ONLY)
If you are an Amazon Prime member, coupon code WDEARLY or WDEARLY20 (I forgot which one works) gets you 20% off Used purchases at Amazon Warehouse Deals. From the tests I made by putting things in the shopping cart, the coupon only works for items sold by Amazon Warehouse Deals (AWD) actual, not for items sold by marketplace sellers through AWD. Search for your headphones of interest there, or browse by category.
I’ll post additional posts if I find any crazy things that got discounted while multi-tasking other things. You can also check the previous Used posts here to see if any of them would be even more tempting with the coupon.
UPDATE: the coupon works for multiple items in your shopping cart, it’s not one item per customer!
PS: The coupon expires by Prime Day… I don’t know when the coupon expires…
[DEAD] Used Hifiman HE400S for $203 w/coupon {PRIME ONLY} [updated]
As of 7/10/16 AM, there are no units available from Amazon Warehouse Deals actual that are eligible for the coupon. They do get more inventory all the time, but I have no way of knowing if and when…
[DEAD] Used Sennheiser HD598 SE for $93 w/coupon {PRIME ONLY}
This Prime Day coupon offer expired. As of 7/22/16 the lowest price for this is $108~…
[DEAD] Used Sennheiser HD700 for $291 w/coupon [ONE LEFT] {PRIME ONLY}

[DEAD] Used Philips M2L (Lightning port) for $130 [many listings]

Open-box Westone UM Pro30 In-Ears for $300
The Westone UM Pro30 in-ears go for $400 at authorized dealers, but if you are comfortable with open-box, you can get them for $300 in “Used – Like New” Open-box condition from authorized dealer OneCall through Amazon Warehouse Deals and the OneCall eBay store (two units available).
Used Definitive Technology Symphony 1 for $260
Another area of contention among today’s “digital headphones” is the combination of Bluetooth and ANC, and one of those, the Definitive Technology Symphony 1 is available for $260 in “Used – Like New” condition by a couple of recognizable sellers through Amazon Warehouse Deals. One of the two, OneCall, is also offering the same item through their eBay store. These headphones average 4.1 out of 5 based on 43 customer reviews at Amazon.
Used Beyerdynamic DT 1770 for $417+ [Open Box for $460+]
The Beyerdynamic PRO 1770 closed-back Studio headphones currently go for $600 in new condition at authorized dealers (be VERY VERY VERY careful when you see iffy listings offering them for $300), but if you want to save some, you can get them in used condition starting at “Used – Good” for $417 and “Used – Very Good” for $444~ at Amazon Warehouse Deals. There are many listings of “Very Good” so there’s a reasonable chance of supply putting pressure on future prices.
Further down the page you can also find “Used – Like New” open-box options by authorized dealers (Electronics Expo, OneCall) starting at $460. The two listings from OneCall are also available through their eBay store.
[DEAD] Used Grado SR60e On-Ears for $67
This sold out at this price… The new condition price of the Grado SR60e open-back on-ears is $79 at authorized dealers, but if you are comfortable with used, you can get them in “Used – Like New” condition (damaged original packaging) for $67~ with free shipping by Amazon Warehouse Deals actual. There is only one unit available per the listing. The headphones average 4.6 out of 5 based on 169 customer reviews.
[DEAD] Used Panasonic RP-HTF600 Over-Ears for $22 [was $18]
Party’s over for now. As of 7/4/16 1:52pm ET, all used options sold out… However, this is a popular model, so used models should arrive in the future…
Refurbished Klipsch R6i In-Ears for $30 w/free S&H
If you want to get your fashion earphone fix without breaking the bank, one way is to get manufacturer refurbished. Which is what BuyDig’s eBay store is offering, the manufacturer refurbished Klipsch R6i in-ears with a 90-day warranty for $30 with free shipping, with a limit of five units per customer. Over 200 units have been sold from this particular offering according to the page over there.
Used Fiio X7 DAP for $450
The Fiio X7 flagship digital audio player goes for $600 at authorized dealers, but if you want to save some, a couple of marketplace sellers are offering it for $450 in “Used – Like New” condition for $450 through Amazon Warehouse Deals. The two sellers are “All About Office” and “ProStudio Sound & Music”.
Used Sennheiser HD 700 for $366
The Sennheiser HD700 got squeezed by its own line-up, between the HD800/HD800S and the HD600/650, and its price is showing the effects of that squeeze. It currently goes for $500 in new condition at authorized dealers, but if you are comfortable with used, there are currently two listings of it in “Used – Very Good” condition (minor cosmetic imperfections, damaged original packaging) for $366~ with free shipping by Amazon Warehouse Deals actual.
Used Sennheiser IE 800 In-Ears for $433
We have a trio of back to back Sennheiser specials. We start with the in-ears, it is the Sennheiser IE 800, available in “Used – Good” condition (cosmetic imperfections, damaged original packaging) for $433~ by Amazon Warehouse Deals (AWD). After that, there is big block of “Used – Very Good” listings for $462~.
This is crackpotery, but strategically one can hope/wait for someone to buy the “Good” condition to put price pressure on the many “Very Good” listings.
Refurbished Sennheiser HD 558 for $55.50
The open over-ear Sennheiser HD 558 go for $98.50 in new condition but if you are a more adventurous shopper, you can get them for $50 plus $5.50 flat shipping by marketplace seller Adgtron (94%, all accessories, no original box, authorized dealer ~ per the description box there) at Amazon Warehouse Deals. These ship directly from Adgtron, so they are not eligible for Prime shipping.
[DEAD] Used Fidelio X1 Open Over-Ears for $138
These are available at higher prices as of 7/22/16 recheck…
Used Brainwavz HM9 for $82
The Brainwavz HM0 go for $109+ in new condition but if you are comfortable with used, there is “Used – Good” condition listing (no further details provided) going for $82~ with free shipping by Amazon Warehouse Deals actual. As usual, this is a 2-fold thing, if the current price is not low enough, you can wait and see whether the invisible hand of the market forces it to drop further down as time goes by.
[DEAD] Used Sennheiser HD 518 for $36.50
It looks like I jinxed this one 🙁 As of 7/1/16 both the sale for the new condition and the AWD inventory at sub-$40 are dead and gone. But fear not, this headphone appears to be on a recurring discount schedule…
The open over-ear Sennheiser HD 518 continues to go for $45 in new condition, which is pushing down prices of the used models as well. Currently you can get it for $36.50 in “Used – Very Good” and $39~ in “Used – Like New” condition by Amazon Warehouse Deals
Used JVC HAM55X Xtreme-Xplosvs for $19
These headphones look bassy, you don’t even have to read about them to recognize that 🙂 The JVC HAM55X Xtreme-Xplosvs are currently available in “Used – Like New” condition in original packaging for $19 by marketplace seller “DB Deals” with the order fulfilled by Amazon which gives you another layer of protection along with free 2-day Prime shipping (if a member). The headphones themselves average 4 out of 5 on 150+ customer reviews.
[DEAD] Used Fiio K5 Headphone Amp with Docking Station for $89
As of 7/26/16 recheck, the used prices start at $110+…
Used Beyerdynamic T90 Over-Ears for $339
The Beyerdynamic T90 open-back headphones, part of their Tesla line-up, are offered on Massdrop and if they get fully unlocked, their lower price will be $458~ shipped with a late July shipment estimate and a limit of 30 units available. In comparison, they go for $480 right now at amazon.com (look for the listings by Huppin’s and Amazon actual).
However, if you are not married to new condition, there are two other options, you can get them in open-box condition for $419 with free shipping by OneCall’s eBay store, or you can get them as low as $339 in “Used – Good” condition (cosmetic imperfections, damaged original packaging) at Amazon Warehouse Deals. There are multiple other offers in better condition with higher prices (as usual).
As usual with used items, it is a two fold type thing. One if you find the price right right-now, and two something to monitor in case the prices drop further down as time goes by.
Used Hifiman HE400S for $220
One things leads to another (the side-effects of price-checking and following the dominoes where they fall), and we have a handful of Hifiman posts today.
If you don’t need all the extra items that come with the HE400S bundle and you want to optimize for a lower out of pocket purchase price, and you are comfortable with open-box items, you can get the Hifiman HE400S for $220 with free shipping in Open Box condition (“Used – Very Good”) by HiDef Lifestyle through Amazon Warehouse Deals. A different seller (HiFi Heaven) has a “Used – Like New” option for $228 and it is an authorized dealer. Other sellers are also hitting the $228 price (Kraft Audio, Audio Advisor).

Any purchase helps, you don’t have to buy the item linked, you can buy items from competing manufacturers or anything else. This is the main method of funding this blog (we only have one ad box in the sidebar and none of the other annoying forms of advertising ~ no clickbait ad-articles, no in-text ads that make the browser jumpy, no full page ads, etc).
Used AKG K240 MK II for $67
