I just checked-upon some of the upcoming and out-of-stock headphones in our newly-updated Headphone Tracker, now with CES 2017 headphones added, and it looks like we have one model that is back in-stock, it is the Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2 SE (SE = Special Edition) going for $250 with free shipping. This is competing in the “BT + ANC Over-Ear” segment that has been received renewed focus from many manufacturers.

Now shipping: B&O Beoplay H9 for $500 New [updated]

Another brand new Bang & Olufsen headphone has now been released to the world it is the H9 under their “B&O Play” brand, a bluetooth and active noise cancelling model, with a new condition price of $500 in two color schemes at amazon.com and other retailers.

As of 1/4/17 recheck, this sold out: On the other hand, if you prefer used, there are already some units available in “Used – Like New” condition (original packaging) for $424~ by Amazon Warehouse Deals in either color scheme.

Koss PortaPro Limited Edition are now Prime eligible

If you are a fan of free 2-day Prime delivery, the new Limited Edition Koss Portapros are now available for $60 with free 2-day Prime-shipping (for Prime members) at Amazon. The seller is Koss’s Amazon store with the order fulfilled by Amazon. They are available in the Rhythm beige or the more colorful Rhythm Bee (official name is “Black Gold”).

In-Stock Now: Beats EP Closed On-Ears for $100 (four colors)

The wireless Beats Solo 3 with its “magical” iOS features got most of the attention of the new Beats releases, but their more budget on-ear headphone is now in-stock and on sale, the closed-back on-ear and wired-only Beats EP (it doesn’t even get the Solo name) is on sale and in-stock for $100 Amazon by Amazon actual in four different color schemes with a limit of up to three per color per customer.

New headphone release: Sennheiser HD200 Closed Over-Ear for $70

But wait, there’s more from Sennheiser! In addition to the newly renamed HD 2.xx and HD 4.xx and new HD5xx that were revealed at IFA 2016, Sennheiser also released yet another new headphone in the HD2xx series, it’s the closed over-ear “professional monitoring” HD200, with a starting price of $70, and already shipping from some of the sellers at amazon.com. It has no reviews there, it’s that new. Per the specs in the description, it has 32 ohm impedance.

Great news if you had been waiting for the Monoprice Monolith M560 planar-magnetic headphones, model/PID 16051. They are in-stock and ready to ship for $200 at the Monoprice website. Version 2 (as the V2 hints at) of the Hifiman RE400i in-ear headphones is currently available for $79 with free shipping by Hifiman through amazon.com. This ships directly from Hifiman’s store, so it is not Prime eligible. There are no customer reviews at the moment. The V2 is also available for the same price by the Hifiman eBay store. I do not know what the differences are between this and the first generation model. There is no mention of a V2 for the RE400i at their website.

The IFA headphones are slowly starting to roll out, on the Sennheiser front, their closed-back over-ear folding Sennheiser HD 4.30 (April 30?) in both the iOS (4.30i) version and the Android (4.30G) version are in-stock by a variety of sellers through Amazon.com for their starting price of $100 with free shipping. These are the early adopter prices, for those curious/anxious to try them out. I have no clue where the prices of these will settle after a few weeks/months, so if you don’t have to have them, it doesn’t hurt to wait.

Because I love the juxtaposition of high and low, we now have something on the totally other end of the spectrum from the previously mentioned $5 Koss On-Ears. These are closed-back over-ears with 50mm drivers, 32 ohm impedance, collapsible design (see pictures over there), detachable cables (two are included), etc.

PS: they are so clone, searching for Akai 50X on Google Shopping returns the Audio Technica M40x 🙂

It can be really unpredictable as to when newly announced headphones will ship. Sometimes they take months to years, but other times they are available right away.
