Fostex the people! [oops! wasn’t I supposed to stop saying this?] The new condition Fostex TR-90 (250 ohm) semi-open headphones are down to $99 with free shipping by “AudioDeluxe” with the orders fulfilled by Amazon. The other variations go for $109+.

This is a relatively newer line of Fostex headphones that unfortunately does not follow the Beyerdynamic number scheme. In Beyerdynamiclandia, DT-770 is closed, 8 is semi-open, 9 is open. Makes sense. In Fosterlandia, 7 is open, 8 is closed, and 9 is semi-open. No pattern! Harder for a mnemonic 🙂

These are dynamic headphones, not planar magnetics.

It looks like Amazon’s price bots may have automatically price-matched marketplace sellers on their website, making the new condition Sennheiser HD 630VB Headphone with Variable Bass and Call Control going for $290 with free shipping, sold and shipped by Amazon actual. Up to three pairs per customer from Amazon actual (you can buy more from the marketplace sellers but warranty situation from them is uncertain). This is a lesser known and rather unusual headphone given the Sennheiser line-up. It has Variable Bass control through a rotary dial on the earcup, and even though it’s not wireless, it has on-earcup volume and call controls. It is a closed-back over-ear that folds (collapsing style).
