Hardcover Book: The Technology of Binaural Listening for $106
And now some lightweight reading 🙂 The 511-page “The Technology of Binaural Listening (Modern Acoustics and Signal Processing)” (March 2013) in hardcover is on sale for $106~ by Amazon actual. A couple of sub-90% marketplace sellers have it for under $100 shipped, but they are not Prime eligible. The sale is such that the used prices are higher than the new condition prices. The hardcover is lower than the Kindle even.
There are two ways to look inside at the above Amazon page. The Kindle sample shows the first paper of the book (“Introduction to Binaural Processing”), while the “Look Inside” on the hardcover shows random pages throughout the book. The combination of the two can help you get a pretty good feel on whether this is something you’d be interested in.
A total of 18 research papers are included. This is not a consumer-facing book.
Used Sennheiser HD 25 LIGHT for $90 + S&H [updated]
The “Sennheiser HD 25 LIGHT”, Light being part of the model name, they are more lightweight than the “regular” HD 25, go for $130 in new condition at various authorized dealers, but if you want to save some, you can get them Used!
As of 6/14/17 recheck this sold out: in “Used – Like New” condition (damaged original packaging) for $86~ by Amazon Warehouse Deals actual. There’s only one used listing for them at the moment.
They are also available in “Used – Demo” condition for $90 plus shipping at Adorama.com. Shipping appears to be $5 flat ~ at least for my three test zipcodes (East, West Coasts, In-Between).
PS: there are three models currently in the HD 25 line. The “normal” HD 25, the “HD 25 Light” and the “HD 25 Plus”. If you think that’s too much, Wait until Samsung’s marketing team gets a hold of them, “HD 25 Active”, “HD 25 Duo MEGA”, “HD 25 Alpha”, etc 😉

Sprint Customers: SIX FREE Months of TIDAL HIFI music streaming service
If you are a current Sprint subscriber, or if you are planning to start new Sprint service, Sprint launched a brand new promotion, you get SIX FREE Months of TIDAL HIFI music streaming service. That’s the full high resolution service $20 per month subscription, FREE for six months.
New Sprint customers have 90 days (from starting Sprint service) to begin their free six month Tidal trial. Existing Sprint customers can sign up for it using the links at the above page. There are FAQs at the aforelinked page covering most of the questions.
AFTER the SIX MONTH FREE TRIAL ENDS
After the six months are over, AND if you don’t cancel beforehand, you will be automatically converted to the $10 per month Premium subscription. If you decide you like the HIFI service, you have to manually upgrade from Premium to HIFI. If you don’t like it and forgot to cancel beforehand, you can cancel at any time in the future. I’m assuming you won’t get a partial refund for the month in progress (but I could be wrong).

More Hifiman action, the new condition HIFIMAN RE300a earphones (a for Android) are on sale for $25~ by AudioLAB with the order fulfilled by Amazon, so it is Prime eligible. Only the black color scheme is currently on sale.
Hifiman RE-400 or RE-400i or RE-400a In-Ears for $49
The sale is back on again! The Hifiman RE-400* earphones are down to $49 again. The RE-400 earphones (no buttons) go for $49 from a various Prime-eligible sellers, while the RE-400i earphones (iOS buttons) go for $49 from one seller (HiDef Lifestyle; not Prime eligible). Meanwhile the Android buttons version goes for $49 from Hifiman fulfilled by Amazon.
The main issue with these, like many other Hifiman products, is durability and customer service dealing with said durability issues. Check forums and such. Of course the risk is smaller with a $49 earphone versus a $500 headphone, but still, there are many choices out there.
