Refurbished Fiio X5 first generation DAP for $129

This is an interesting trade-off if you are in the market for a DAP. The first generation of the Fiio X5 is now available manufacturer refurbished for $129 with free shipping at Adorama.com until 7/30/16 (or earlier if sold out).

The latest X5 model is the second generation which goes for $300 in new condition unless you find it on special. So you have to trade-off the advantages of the latest model, along with new-vs-refurbished, versus a much lower price. The first generation X5 has been around for a while, so plenty is written about it at various forums and websites. It can also serve as a USB DAC and it has two microSD slots (no on-board storage).

Pelican 1010 Micro Case with Clear Lid (Black or Red or Blue) for $9.50 [Also Pluck Foam Set for $3.19]

On the earphone storage front, now the black color scheme of the Pelican 1010 Micro Case has joined the red, both are on sale for $9.50 each at Amazon.com and they are Prime eligible. Practically there are no quantity restrictions on these unless one is a reseller (limit 87 units for the black, limit 90 for the red).

In a separate listing, the blue color scheme is also on sale for $9.50 with a limit of 55. The limit may just be how many units are available at the moment.

These have a clear lid, the color is the other three sides of the little cases.

In parallel, the Pelican 1012 Pick N’ Pluck Foam Set for 1010 is on sale for $3.17 each. It has the same crazy limit (up to 90 per customer), however, it is designated as an Add-On item, so one must place a $25+ order before they are allowed to purchase it. The restriction applies to all, including Prime members (after all, the Add-On program was created to counter the free 2-day shipping of Prime for low cost items).

Onkyo FC300 On-Ears for $40 or In-Ears for $30 [free shipping]

Two weeks later, and some of the Onkyo Amazon store sale items continue. Their ES-FC300 on-ears in the white color and the violet color go for $40 per pair, with free shipping. They ship from Onkyo, so they are not Prime eligible.

Also part of the sale are some in-ears, the IE-FC300 go for $30, while the IE-HF300 for $50.

Come smell our dairy (treble?) air! It’s sale time again for one of the more recent Koss headphones, the Koss Pro4S studio headphones are on sale for the very specific price of $86.55 at Amazon by Amazon actual.

PS: the treble comment is a play on words, not a comment on this headphone’s treble performance. Because I can’t leave jokes on the cutting room floor 🙂
