Black Friday doorbuster: Sennheiser HD 6XX for $180

The sale that was promised is here! The new condition open-back over-ear Sennheiser HD 6XX headphones are on sale as a limited time Black Friday offer at Massdrop for $180 with free US shipping and returns. This being a collaboration between the two companies, it comes with a full two-year warranty, although optionally you can purchase a 3-year Massdrop extended warranty.

This being an in-stock drop, it will ship in about one business day after the purchase closes, in our case, as of the time of writing, the shipping estimate is December 2nd (and for those traumatized by previous long Massdrop waits, yes, it is in 2019) 😉

Sennheiser HD 599 SE Open Over-Ears for $100

$100 has more options these days for open-back over-ear headphones from well-known manufacturers. In addition to the previously mentioned Philips options, as part of the Black Friday festivities, you can get the new condition Sennheiser HD 599 SE for $100 with free shipping from Amazon actual with up to five pairs per customer. This is marked as an Amazon Exclusive and it is the black color scheme of the model…

Sennheiser PXC 550 ANC/bluetooth over-ears down to $200

Sennheiser goes on the attack in the very competitive prestige-brand ANC/bluetooth over-ear combos and they have brought down the price of their closed-back over-ear PXC 550 to $200 with free shipping by various at Amazon (including Amazon actual) along with B&H Photo and friends…

Note however that there is a second generation model now, which, however, goes for $350, so there’s a big price gap between the two…

PS: we have not turned into an ANC/bluetooth blog! I’m simply posting as many deals as I can find (and have time to post) and a lot of today’s options and deals are on the ANC/bluetooth combos…

Sennheiser M2 IEi Wired In-Ears for $35

NewEgg is now running a variant of their Black Friday sale and among those offers they do have a Headphone section, the headliner of which is the new condition Sennheiser M2 IEi HD1 wired in-ears with Apple buttons going for just $35 with free US shipping. This is sold and shipped by NewEgg so you know you are not getting an iffy/international/etc product…

The sale is on both the black/red (looks stylish from the pictures) and the black/chrome (looks more conventional/streamlined in the pictures) options…

Monday: Sennheiser HD 58X drops to $135

Sennheiser fans of the world, unite and take over! Massdrop has just launched a $25 off discount on the new condition HD 58X Jubilee open-back over-ear headphones, from its regular price of $160. It comes with free US shipping and free US returns. For international orders, shipping is discounted but extra and of course there are customs depending on your location.

NOTE that the discount expires on 11/4/19 at 11:59pm pacific time!

During the checkout process, there are options to optionally add earpads to your order and/or the Objective headphone amp. The earpads have a $5 off combined purchase discount while the Objective has a $15 off combined purchase discount. There’s also an option for a $20 3-year accidental coverage US-only warranty. See shopping cart for details 🙂

This is an in-stock drop, so you won’t be waiting for delivery!

Surprise Massdrop Combo: Sennheiser HD6XX _AND_ Sony WH-1000X M3 for $400 TOTAL

Well this is a surprise and a temptation that may be hard to resist for practical audiophiles. For $400 at the Massdrop website, you get two headphones, the audiophile-loved open-back over-ear Sennheiser HD-6XX, AND the utilitarian Sony WH-1000X M3 closed-back over-ear with bluetooth and ANC.

And better yet, both headphones come with a warranty. The HD-6XX comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty, and the Sony WH-1000X M3 comes with a 1-year Sony warranty per the listing over there.

This is a pre-order with two days left to purchase (as of the time of writing of this post). The orders will ship mid-September from Massdrop.

PS: if you only want one of the two, you can always gift or sell or trade the other one. Or you can send it to me LOL 🙂

Used Open-Box Sennheiser HD 300 Closed Over-Ears for $30

If you want to give the new-ish Sennheiser HD 300 closed-back over-ears a try without paying the $50 new condition price, Blinq through Amazon Warehouse Deals has them in “Used – Like New” open-box condition going for $30~ with free US shipping. This ships directly from Blinq and it is not Prime eligible. So no fast shipping for Prime members but on the other hand, everyone gets free shipping (not just Primes)…

These are part of Sennheiser’s newer “streamline the model numbers” line of headphones because let’s face it all those 4.20 and 429 S numbers got the average consumer very mixed up.

I haven’t seen or touched the HD 300 but judging from the pictures, their earpads look very similar to the earpads of the older Sennheiser HD 4.20S which we had a text and pictures unboxing of. The earpads were the best feature of that headphone. So comfy. Just put those on after one of those vice-grip headphones and enjoy the lack of brain crunch 🙂

Sennheiser Momentum BeFree SE Bluetooth Earphones for $150

If you are looking for necklace-style bluetooth earphones, the new condition Sennheiser Momentum BeFREE special edition model is on sale at the moment for $150 with free US shipping by Amazon actual. This is not a lightning deal, so the price is such until it changes at an unspecified time in the future.

This is a new release, it first got added to Amazon in June 2019. It averages 3.3 out of 5 based on 7 customer reviews…

Sennheiser Momentum Free SE bluetooth earphones for $150 [Prime Deal]

More Prime action, this time from Sennheiser, they are offering their new condition Sennheiser Momentum Free special edition necklace-style bluetooth earphones [gosh, the names are getting longer and longer] for $150 with free shipping if you are a Prime member… IF you are not a Prime member, you have to add it to the shopping cart in order to get a “reveal” of the Prime Deal price…

For all the action, check the Prime Day Gold Box, and given the volume of deals for these two days, the time you spend digging around, the more interesting deals you may find…

This week: Sennheiser HD 6XX for $200 again with Massdrop Email Click Coupon

Good until Sunday of this week (according to my calendaring math that would be Sunday July 7 in 2019), there’s a Massdrop email that promotes a $20 off discount on the Sennheiser HD 6XX.

When you click on the link in that email and go to your Massdrop account (already logged in), it will apply automatically a $20 off discount towards the purchase of the open-back over-ear Sennheiser HD 6XX, dropping it from $220 to $200, which was its original price.

There’s no coupon code to enter ~ the discount appears automagically in your shopping cart AFTER you click on the special link in the Massdrop email…

It’s still a bit of a miracle they hadn’t increased the HD 6XX to get closer to the HD 600 / 650 prices 🙂

EU: Sennheiser CX 300S Stumpy In-Ears for 40 to 41 euro

Sennheiser itself had a mini big bang of new consumer-tier headphones and among them is the return of the dreaded “S” (dreaded because in englishes a final “s” indicates plural ~ making conversations and searches more complicated than necessary). The stumpy CX 300 II barely-in-ears have now been replaced with the CX 300S, and at Amazon Germany the white color scheme is down to 40 euro and the red (“rot” in german) is down to 41 euro.

Their default prices are 50 euro at amazon.de, and $50 USD at amazon.com.

PS: “stumpy” is not (yet?) a headphone technical term ^_^

EU: Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ears for 100 euro [iOS]

From the looks of it this headphone may be doing its “farewell tour” of Amazon Germany, it is the new condition black color scheme with iOS remote control buttons of the closed-back over-ear Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 going for 100 euro with free shipping within Germany. Up to six per customer at the sale price. The other options are either sold out or more expensive…

Note that you can use the headphone with any device, it is not limited to iOS devices. The only downside of iOS buttons with other devices is that some of the remote control functions (eg volume control) may not work or not work as expected. Other than that, it is a 3.5mm input headphone…

PS: from the looks of it, Sennheiser must have settled the “Momentum” naming dispute in the US market, because as you can see at the US Senheiser website (en-us sub-domain) at select ex-Momentum product pages, you are greeted by this message:

Woot Garage sale with Gaming Headsets including Sennheiser Game Zero for $100

Woot is running another iteration of their Garage sale. The headphones under “Electronics” have unfortunately sold out before I noticed the sale, but there’s a quintet of in-stock (as of the time of writing) gaming headsets under the Computers Garage sale as follows:

+ Sennheiser Game ZERO for $100

+ Skullcandy SLYR for $37~

+ Polk Melee for $24

+ HyperX Cloud PRO for $58

+ Razer Tiamat 2.2 V2 for $60

Check each individual listing for details on its condition, color options and warranty. The sale ends in about a week from the blog-posting date, except for items that sellout ahead of time ~ and the sellouts happen quite often during the “Garage sales”…

Monday: Sennheiser, Skullcandy, Samson, JBL, etc

There’s a random headphone sale at Woot Electronics masquerading as an “Odds & Ends” sale for Monday 7/27/19, that features eight different headphones including the $7 Skullcandy Jib earphones and the $23 Hesh 2 over/on-ears, the $50 Sennheiser HD 471G (G for Galaxy/Android) and the $50 HD-250 II closed-back over-ears…

Meanwhile the B&H Photo Monday daily deals include the $14 Samson BT30 30-Pin Bluetooth Adapter/Receiver

EU: Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ears for 129 euro

Speaking of Sennheiser Momentums, their 2.0 closed back on-ears in the Brown color scheme with the Apple iOS button configuration is currently on sale for 129 euro by Amazon Germany itself with up to three pairs per customer at the sale price. This is not a lightning deal, so the price is good until it changes (in other words, I have no clue what’s gonna happen to the price). As of the time of writing, this is the only available option ~ the other colors/OS options are currently sold out by Amazon Germany actual…

EU: Sennheiser M2IEG Momentum In-Ears for 64 euro

A marketplace seller’s price looks like it has triggered a computer-generated price-match by Amazon Germany itself, and for the time, you can get the new condition Sennheiser M2IEG Momentum In Ears for around 64 euro with up to three pairs per color per customer at the same price. I’m not sure if the limit of three is total for all colors/options or per individual option. There are three colors.

NOTE: pay attention to the actual seller ~ some of them are Amazon Germany actual, others are marketplace sellers…

Monday: Sennheiser HD1 FREE bluetooth in-ears for $80

Good until Monday at 11:59pm eastern [or earlier if sold out], New York’s B&H Photo is offering the new condition Sennheiser HD1 FREE bluetooth in-ears for $80 with free US shipping. These are neckband-style, even though from the pictures, it’s not easy to determine that ~ but notice how the cable looks rigid-y in-place…

NOTE that orders placed at B&H Photo by Sunday April 28, will ship after April 28, so if you need something to arrive yesterday, note that it will not!

EU: Sennheiser HD 660S for 377 euro

Germany being the motherland of Sennheiser has its benefits. For example, the new condition open-back over-ear Sennheiser HD 660S is on sale for 377 euro with free shipping within Germany by Amazon Germany actual. You can buy up to three pairs at the sale price. This is not a lightning deal, so expiration time/date is unknown to me…

EU: Sennheiser HD 4.50 SE ANC/BT Over-Ears for 120 euro

This is an organic sale, not part of the daily deals. For a limited time, Amazon Germany is offering the new condition Sennheiser HD 4.50 Special Edition for 120 euro with free shipping in Germany. Limit up to three pairs per customer at the sale price with amazon.de as the seller of record.

This is an ANC and bluetooth closed-back over-ear with a 2-year warranty, It folds, has NFC and apt-X, bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm cable, etc.

I’m not sure what the difference is between the SE (special edition) and the standard edition…

I’m still puzzled how big companies with expensive headphones can’t afford apt-X HD yet budget brands with headphones selling at a fraction of the price can #headphonemysteries

Woot headphone sale includes Bose QC25 ANC Over-Ears for $160, Momentum IEMs for $50 to $60, Etc

Woot has long-running deals, in addition to their more famous daily deals. One such is a headphone sale that features 14 models and it is good for a few weeks unless a particular model sells-out (which happens often):

+ Sennheiser Momentum in-ears for $50
+ M2 (2nd generation) (iOS buttons) for $60

+ Bose QC25 ANC Over-Ears for $160
+ Bose case for QC15 for $14

+ Sony WH-1000X M2 ANC/BT over-ears for $290

+ Sennheiser HD 471G for $56
+ Sennheiser HD-205 II for $60

+ also Philips, Cowin, Gibson Sports, Skullcandy, and … “Batman vs Superman” 🙂

EU: Sennheiser GSX 1200 PRO Gaming Head-amp for 162 euro

At the intersection of Sennheiser and headphones and amps, we find the current best seller in Amplifiers at Amazon Germany. It is the new condition Sennheiser GSX 1200 PRO offered for the very specific price of 161.90 euro. Because of the sale, there is a limit of up to three units per customer at the sale price.

Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee returns for $160 [MD]

Jovial Jubilation! The Sennheiser HD 58X open-back over-ears Jubilee edition is back on at the Massdrop website for $160.

This being a “work in progress” listing, you have until the end of March 2019 to order it, so more time to think about it instead of the usual week-or-less time of the traditional Massdrop-drops. But fear not, shipment will not take much longer, it will ship the first week of April, soon after the listing closes. Shipping is free in the US, extra for international addresses (mayhaps $15 flat).

This headphone being a Massdrop X Sennheiser product, it comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty. They come with one detachable cable, individually serialized, a 1/4″ adapter, and are made in Ireland. Kerrygold not included 🙂

It has 150 ohm impedance, so do check forums and reviews if you are planning to use it with lower power devices.

Sennheiser PC-37X Gaming Headset for $120 [MD]

Gamers without frontiers, Sennheiser without wallet tears! It’s a new song, look it up on my non-existent YouTube singing channel 😉 Which brings us to the Sennheiser PC-37X gaming headphone offered for $120 at the Massdrop website.

This is an “in the works” offering, which means a longer shipping date, late March 2019. On the plus side though, you have 14 days and change [from posting date] to order this, not the typically shorter traditional “drops” window.

This is yet another product in the Massdrop x Sennheiser partnership (which includes the critically acclaimed HD 6XX and HD 58X open-back over-ears), so you get a 2-year warranty with it.

EU: Sennheiser HD 559 Open Over-Ears for 62e

This has dropped further down since our previous post. Open-back headphones are harder to find in Europe than the US market under 100 [there’s no Grado officially in Europe and the good old Philips SHP-9500* are history], so there’s less competition for Sennheiser, but their new HD 559 open-back over-ear is now down to 62 euro by Amazon actual with up to three pairs per customer at the sale price.

NOTE that this comes with a cable that terminates in 1/4″ (6.3″) because Sennheiser envisions this as a “home audio” headphone. So if you want to use it with smartphones or portable DAPs and such, you need to use your own 1/4″ to 1/8″ adapter or if you have compatible Sennheiser cables from previous purchases of other compatible models.

Sennheiser should have really inclued the 1/4″ to 1/8″ adapter. Come on now 🙂

EU: Sennheiser HD 559 open over-ears for 66 euro

The latest generation of the Sennheiser HD 5?? series ends in 9s, but numbers can sometimes be deceiving because the new HD 559 is now the entry-point into this line-up because Sennheiser did not offer a numeric-replacement for the HD 518. So keep that in mind and, as always, read forums and reviews for any products you may not be familiar with…

Which brings us to the new condition open-back over-ear Sennheiser HD 559 headphones, on sale for the very specific price of 65.90 euro by Amazon Germany actual, with up to three pairs per customer at the sale price. This is not however a lightning deal, so the price can change in any direction at any time…

EU: Sennheiser HD 2.10 Closed On-Ears for 26e

On the budget side of things, Amazon Germany is back with another Sennheiser sale, this time it is the closed-back on-ear HD 2.10 headphones for 25.90 euro with up to three pairs per customer at the sale price… They average 3.9 out of 5 based on 28 customer reviews…

Sunday: 2pk Sennheiser PMX-684i for $20 [also Sony TW]

There are two headphone-related daily deals for Sunday February 17 in 2019. First up, B&H Photo is offering a new condition 2-pack of Sennheiser PMX-684i neckband exercise earbuds for $20 with free US shipping. That’s $10 per pair. They come with a mic/remote. Yes, they terminate in a plasticky earbud type thing, they do not go inside the ear canal. They have a 3-button remote/mic as well.

Next up we go to the land of Woot where they are offering for Sony in “Used – Like New” condition the Sony WF1000X truly wireless for $60 in your choice of black or gold color-scheme. They come with a 90-day Woot warranty..

Sennheiser HD 206 for $40, RS 165 Wireless for $130

Woot is running another limited time Garage sale and under the Electronics section they have a couple of new condition Sennheiser headphones:

+ HD 206 closed over-ears for $40

The HD 206 come with a 2-year Sennheiser warranty and you can buy up to ten pairs, while the RS 165 come with a 90-day Woot warranty and you can buy up to three pairs.

The RS 165 is the latest generation of Sennheiser wireless headphones that does not use Kleer-branded technology… The previous generations, models ending in 0s, eg RS 160 and above used Kleer… The models below that, eg RS 120, did not use Kleer…

They also had the good old Panasonic RP-HJE-120 earphones for $5 per pair but they sold out.

Shipping is free for Prime members [you have to connect your Woot account with your Amazon Prime account ~ this is a one-time thing], or $6 flat for all purchases made during a single calendar day in the Central time zone [Woot is “Hello Central” (time zone in Texas]…

EU: Sennheiser HD660S for 389 euro

The price is on a downward trend at the moment for the new condition Sennheiser HD 660 S open-back over-ear headphones, they are currently on sale for 389 euro from Amazon Germany actual.

This of course is competing with its other siblings, the good old HD600 and HD650 from traditional audio retailers, and the relatively new HD6XX from Massdrop. In the US, you can get two HD6XX headphones for the price of one HD660 S which is more expensive than Europe. In the EU on the other hand, Massdrop prices include customs/duties/taxes and shipping, bringing the prices closer together depending on location. Plus there’s the matter of warranty…

Tue: Sennheiser PMX 894i neckband exercise wired earphones for $20

It’s Sennheiser action among the daily deals at B&H Photo for Tuesday, it’s the new condition PMX 684i neckband earphones (wired, not bluetooth) with iOS mic/remote and designed for exercise going for $20. You can buy as many as you like at the same price.

Sennheiser PXC-550 ANC/BT for $200

If you prefer Sennheiser’s take on the popular ANC/BT over-ear model, their PXC 550 model is on sale for a limited time for $200 with free shipping with up to three pairs per customer at the sale price at Amazon actual. Being Sennheiser, their ANC is called “NoiseGard”, not to be confused with “NoseGuard” ^_^

Sennheiser Black Friday sale: HD1*, RS*, HD 4.50 BTNC, Etc

The official Sennheiser store is running its own Black Friday sale with the following offers:

+ HD1 Bluetooth closed-back over-ears for $200
+ comfortably numb edition; okay, the Pink Floyd edition for $250

+ HD 4.50 BTNC (bluetooth + ANC) for $150

+ the whole RS-series of wireless (non-bluetooth) headphones, eg for TV usage

+ also some gaming and flex models

Sennheiser PXC 250 II Lightweight ANC On-Ears for $110

At the intersection of active noise cancelling and lightweight and collapsible headphone lives the good old Sennheiser PXC 250 II, and as of the time of writing, a marketplace seller fulfilled by Amazon has it available in new condition for $110 with free shipping and handling… The ANC circuit is powered by one AAA battery…

Sennheiser HD1 Closed Over-Ears for $150

The latest Sennheiser Momentum headphones continue in the US market under the new “HD1” brand. Their new condition closed-back over-ear wired HD1 are currently on sale for $150 with free shipping by Amazon actual, available in both iOS and Android button configurations. iOS has both the black and ivory colors, while Android is only available in black.

Note that the iOS/Android difference is just some of the functionality of the buttons. Otherwise the headphones work regardless…

Speaking of Sennheiser, Massdrop has a profile article on the Massdrop x Sennheiser shipping. Oops, did I say “shipping”? I meant business relationship 🙂
