The closed-back Sennheiser HD-205 II headphones are on sale and/or price-matched for $40 with free shipping at Groupon Goods and also by Sonix Electronix on eBay and thru Amazon. Sennheiser’s marketing was generous with these ones, they gave them both the “studio” and “DJ” buzzwords 🙂
Sennheiser HD 6xx SOLD OUT quickly at MD
Unfortunately I did not wake up early enough to witness the excitement when it went live at 9am Eastern (6am Pacific). Judging by the comments on the product page and the 4800+ comments on the page there, this was chaotic with their servers getting overwhelmed by the demand, and there were errors and issues. So if you weren’t there and then live, you may have saved yourself from a lot of frustration. It’s 11:13am ET, and it’s already sold-out. Judging by the comments, a lot of people were (re)introduced to the early 2000s internet shopping experience 🙂
Amazon Warehouse Deals 15% off In-Cart promotion continues – Used Sennheiser RS120 for $37+ [updated]
A new month is here, but the 15% off automatic in-cart discount continues at Amazon Warehouse Deals, featuring over 21,000 items, including 270+ headphones. If you are not familiar with the mechanics of this, check our earlier mini explainer post.
This brings us to the Sennheiser RS120 RF wireless headphone that dropped in price recently, and combined with the 15% off in-cart discount, it is now down to $37~ in “Used – Very Good” condition by Amazon Warehouse Deals.
PRICES UPDATED 11/5/16 late PM: they ran out of “Used – Good”, and the “Used – Very Good” price upticked, that’s why now the lowest eligible price is $37~ after in-cart discount to $31.54 in “Used – Good” condition by and $34.67 in “Used – Very Good” condition.
If an item is eligible, you will see the 15% off discount reflected in the shopping cart, both the right hand side that shows the total, and the individual box for the individual product on the main column, screenshot of that below:
The screenshot below shows the older prices, but you can still use it to locate the in-cart discount confirmations. I put it after the jump so it doesn’t create confusion…
Massdrop Bombshell: Sennheiser HD6xx for $200 starting on Tuesday
Massdrop dropped a bombshell today! They have their first Sennheiser exclusive deal, and it’s an audiophile level headphone, the HD 6xx, based on the current HD 650 with a detachable 6-foot cable. The drop will go live on November 8 at 9am eastern time. A total of 5000 units will be available, the first 500 of which will get sub-550 serial numbers. They are estimated to ship mid-December 2016. If interested, make sure all your account info at Massdrop is up to date (address, credit card, etc), so you can jump right in when it goes live on Tuesday 11/8/16. These are made in Ireland and come with a 2-year Sennheiser warranty.
What does it say about HD 650 prices?
This also raises an interesting question, considering that the current new condition of the HD 650 is $300+. Does this price mean Sennheiser has flexibility in bigger price drops for the HD 650, or is the nature of the Massdrop offer such that allows them to offer it for less because they don’t have to deal with the traditional retailer infrastructure?
Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 In-Ears (black) w/$5 Promo for $60
But wait, there’s more! The Momentum deals are gaining …momentum (sorry, I couldn’t resist), doing the price song-and-dance once again at NewEgg, you can get the new condition Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 In-Ears in the black color scheme with a $5 promo gift card for $60 with free shipping. Limit five per customer. Here’s a screenshot of the price-check as of the time of writing:
Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ears (iOS, Brown) for $100 [limit 3]
Here we go, another Momentum 2.0 sale, this time it is the on-ear closed-back model, in the brown color-scheme with the iOS buttons, going for $100 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual with a limit of three units per customer.
PS: the iOS/Galaxy/Android mentions are the button compatibility. The headphones themselves are the same. Since they have detachable cables, you can mix and match cables that fit.
Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ears (iOS/Black) with $17 Promo for $152 [Request Price song-and-dance]
You have to lift a finger or two to see the price, but the price is definitely right, the new condition closed-back over-ear Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 headphones, in the black color scheme with the iOS button set are on sale for $150 plus $2 flat shipping at NewEgg by NewEgg actual. You also get a $17 promotional NewEgg gift card with the purchase. Limit five per customer.
Here’s a screenshot of the shopping cart, it clearly shows the “Around Ear” aka “Over Ear” aka “Circumaural” (which may sound like a reproductive term to the uninitiated)
To see the price, you have to click on the “Request Price” and receive the price either via email, via phone/text, or by scanning a QR code (screenshot of that below). If you have a QR code app on your phone, you don’t even need a data connection to read it, it works in Airplane mode as well:
PS: if you are an Amazon fan, this has not been price-matched as of the time of writing, as you can see at the product page. Because of the way this deal is structured, the Amazon price-matching technology may not be able to notice it (or they won’t price-match it). I believe there was another crazy Momentum 2.0 sale a few weeks ago, maybe it was via price-match? It’s hard to tell with these things without a full-time internet CSI team 🙂

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ears for $244
If you need to get a Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 over-ears headphone right now and don’t want to wait for the holiday shopping season madness to begin, the black color scheme with the Apple iOS buttons is going for $244 with free shipping with a limit of five per customer at Amazon by Amazon actual. For the price, you can alternately get Two On-Ears!
Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ear for $120+ (iOS) or $132+ (non-iOS)
The black color scheme of the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ears with the Apple/iOS remote control is now down to $120 with free shipping with a limit of five units per customer at Amazon by Amazon actual. The brown goes for $132, and the others go for more.
On the non-iOS front (they call it “Galaxy” but they mean Android, Windows Phone, etc), the lowest price is $132 for the black color scheme with a limit of five. the other colors go for more.
PS: the iOS/Android difference is in the remote control buttons, especially the Volume Up/Down buttons. The basic play/pause buttons typically work on most non-iOS devices/app combos. Next and Previous track is more nebulous. They come with detachable cables so if you have a compatible cable from another Sennheiser headphone (or can find one at a good price), then you can switch iOS/Android cables depending on your music source device.
Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ears for $118 (Apple) [updated]
Looking at the prices, both of these look like they are automated price-matches of other sellers by Amazon actual. When looking at the various OS and price combinations, do pay attention to who the actual sellers are. Amazon actual is an authorized dealer, some of the other sellers there are not. The links below point to Amazon’s own listing, and the prices are as of the time of writing:
+ Black Color with the Apple/iOS remote for $117.54 (limit 5)
+ this increased to $150 as of 10/12/16 AM re-check: Black Color with the Android/Galaxy remote for $125 (limit 5)
+ the other options go for more, some around $150, others at usual price of $230
Since this looks like a computer-generated price-match, it’s hard to predict how long the prices will last or what direction they’ll go next.
Sennheiser HD 650 for $339

Used Sennheiser HD471i Closed Over-Ears for $54
This is not part of the Sennheiser IFA 2016 line-up with the goofy naming scheme, but it is a relatively new headphone (from last Fall), the closed-back over-ear Sennheiser HD 471i (detachable cable, 3-button remote for Apple devices {hence the “i” in the model name}) goes for $110 in new condition, but if you want to save some, you can get it for $54 to $58 in Used condition by Amazon Warehouse Deals. There are four listings under “Used – Very Good” for $58, so price pressure may build on these over time given that they are not a famous headphone. They average 4.1 out of 5 but based on only 16 customer reviews.
Sennheiser Urbanite XL Over-Ears for $90

The Urbanite is part of a two-pronged approach (along with the Momentum) to capture the average consumer that has been buying Beats and Bose and other fashionable/trendy headphones and/or brands.

Check more details on that promotion (the shopping cart verifies your order is eligible, so you don’t have to guess/gamble).
Here’s a screenshot of the shopping cart with three HD 700s in the shopping cart, and confirmation that the order is eligible for this promotion:
