Sennheiser HD1 bluetooth neckband earphone for $160 w/coupon

I can’t catch all the good deals with this promotion, but I’m trying to post as many as I can find while they are still in-stock. It’s Sennheiser time now, the brand new Sennheiser HD1 bluetooth neckband earphones just got released going for $200, but coupon code C20SPRING brings them down to $160 at World Wide Stereo on eBay. Coupon expires 3/27/17.

PS: already some of the participating headphones have sold-out, eg the Bose QC30 listing is now toast. You can find them all in the headphonalia category.

Used Sennheiser HDR-40 Wireless Headset with T-40 Charging Base for $28 shipped (Missing Proprietary Cable)

If of all the Sennheiser wireless headphones through time and space it is the HDR-40 Wireless Headset with T-40 Charging Base the one you want, you can get it in “Used – Excellent Minus” condition for $21 plus shipping (around $7 it seems) at Adorama directly or by Adorama on eBay where they have “Best Offer” enabled, so you may be able to get it for less. The shipping fees vary slightly between their website and eBay because of different shipping algorithms.

IMPORTANT: these listings are MISSING its proprietary 3.5mm audio cable, so don’t buy unless you already have a compatible cable or you know where to find it.

Sennheiser HD 650 drips to $316

Once upon a time, all you had to do is deal with the HD 600 vs HD 650 dilemma. Now the dilemma has turned into a never-ending multi-lemma (is this a proper word?). Not only do you have to consider the Massdrop HD 6XX, you also have to triangulate when it will return to MD, and whether you’ll be able to buy it in the 35 nanoseconds it will be available before it is gone 🙂 And then there’s the HD 700 that is slowly but steadily getting closer in price to the HD650. And that’s before you consider the ever-increasing number of open-back alternatives from other companies.

Now that I’ve given you a two-tylenol headache, it is a good time to mention that the new condition open-back over-ear Sennheiser HD 650 has dripped down to $316 at Amazon by Amazon actual. This is not a lightning deal.

Sennheiser HD700 flattens to $400

Squeezed between the 6-series and the 8-series, the HD700 is often not given as much attention but it too has its fans. Plenty is written about the 6/7/8 Sennheiser line-up online, so if you have a few months to spare, you can read it all 🙂

Which brings us to a flattening of the HD700 price, it is now going for $400 with free shipping, in new condition, at Amazon by Amazon actual with a limit of up to three units per customer.

NOTE: when price-checking this and the HD800* models at Amazon, pay attention on who the actual sellers are. A lot of un-authorized and fairly unknown sellers offer them for less. Be sure to understand all the risks and trade-offs involved before buying from one of those un-authorized and un-known sellers,

[DEAD] Monday: Sennheiser HD 558 Open Over-Ears for $70

Sennheiser Momentum In-Ears (iOS) for $76

Speaking of the older Momentums, the new condition In-Ears, in either the black/chrome or the black/red color-schemes are on sale, in new condition, for the very specific price of $75.51 at Amazon by Amazon actual. Limit up to three units per color per customer. They average 3.7 out of 5 based on over 900 customer reviews, and they have over 100 questions peer-answered. Only the iOS versions are on sale. The Android versions are not.

PS: by “versions” I mean the remote control button compatibility on iOS vs Android. Other than that, it’s the same earphone (as far as I know).

In-Stock Now: Sennheiser HD1 Over-Ears for $350

More of the new Sennheiser HD1 (formerly known as Momentum) headphones are now shipping. In a break with past tradition, the HD1 is not a single model, but a whole family of products. One of Sennheiser’s many attempts at the popular headphone market of the Beats and Bose and other techie and fashionable options.

The closed-back over-ear HD1 is currently in-stock in both Android and iOS options at its starting price of $350 at Amazon actual.

On the other hand, if you prefer a better price over “the latest model”, the various Momentums are your best chance as they go through their end of cycle phase.

In-Stock Now: Sennheiser HD1 Bluetooth and ANC Over-Ears

Some of “The Great Profit Margin Wars” in headphones these days are fought at the closed-back over-ear headphones with both wireless (bluetooth) and active noise cancellation (ANC) and wired/un-powered playback. While these products sometimes trigger some audiophiles, to the average techie and consumer they sometimes present a do-it-all-Paul convenience. And thus they can command a higher price if they are made by a recognizable brand.

With the intro out of the way, the brand new Sennheiser HD1 (notice that Sennheiser even gave them the “1” in their rebooted Momentum naming scheme) in the closed-back over-ear, bluetooth and ANC is now in-stock and ready to ship for $500 at Amazon by Amazon actual in the black color scheme and the white color scheme. For now, they are on two separate listings, but I’m guessing eventually the Amazon product bots/humans will merge the listings together.

CAUTION: Sennheiser IE800 for $429 at Groupon is sold by unknown seller

When price-checking ans surfing around the interwebs it’s always a good idea to be cautious when parting with your money, especially when it’s more than pocket change. The Sennheiser IE800 in-ears may show up for $429 with free shipping on sale at Groupon Goods but Groupon actual is not the seller. Instead they are sold by a marketplace seller (Groupon has marketplace sellers too, just like Amazon, Sears, NewEgg, etc). Groupon is washing its hands on the transaction: “The merchant is solely responsible to purchasers for the fulfillment, delivery, care, quality, and pricing information of the advertised goods and services”. In other words, it is a high risk purchase.

Sennheiser HD 600 drips to $288

The launch of the (impossible to get) Sennheiser HD 6XX at Massdrop for $200 (based on the HD 650) kinda audio-blocked the HD 650, and at the same time, it created another window for the HD 600. Speaking of which, the HD 600 is currently on sale in new condition for $288 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual. Limit three per customer. This is not a lightning deal.

Used Sennheiser PXC550 ANC + BT 4.2 for $300 [updated]

UPDATE 1/22/17: the price did not drop, but a “Used – Good” condition became available for $300… The “Used – Very Good” remains at $320…

Heads Up (Tuesday 9am ET): Massdrop x Sennheiser PC37X Gaming Headset for $120

The Massdrop-Sennheiser ship (okay, this is not a TV show, relationship) has a new product. Going live for the first time on Tuesday 1/17/17 at 9am Eastern time is a brand new gaming headset, the “Massdrop x Sennheiser PC37X” which is based on Sennheiser’s existing PC 373D model.

The Massdrop model’s price will be $120, while the current price of the existing PC 373D is twice that, so while it may not be HD-6XX levels of crazy, it may get busy and bumpy.

NOTE that the shipping estimate is mid-March 2017, that’s two months away. Since this is a collaboration with Sennheiser, you get the 2-year warranty, with Senn’s blessings.

Sennheiser HD 650 for $300

The new condition open-back over-ear Sennheiser HD650 is now down to $300 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual. This looks like it could be a computer-generated price-match of a marketplace seller (but I’m only guessing at this).

Note also that there is a newer model the HD6XX that was offered a couple of times at Massdrop for $200 but sold-out within nanoseconds.
