It’s Black Friday pricing revisited for the new condition open-closed planar-magnetic Monoprice M560 on-ears, going for $150 with free standard US shipping. They are not eligible for the coupon CALM18 which is 20% off orders of $150+. I have tested other Monolith products, and as usual, they are not eligible for the coupon either. The coupon expires Saturday night.

Speaking of Monoprice, they had a Big Bang of Headphone products revealed at CES 2018, including closed-back planar magnetics, a new line of studio headphones (Stage Right), and a variety of DACs and amps, from the tiny to the not-so-tiny. If you purchase them together with other things that come with free shipping, it will likely lower or in some cases zero out their shipping fee. The Monoprice shipping fees work in mysterious ways.

Monoprice MP80 BA/Dynamic In-Ears (with three tuning nozzles) for $59 w/FS

The Monoprice party continues, this time with a brand new in-ear release, so new it has zero customer reviews at the moment at their website!

It is the new condition MP80 BA + Dynamic Driver IEMs are on sale for $70 with free standard US shipping. But wait, there’s more! You can use coupon code ENJOY and get 15% off, making this a $59.50 with free shipping. The coupon expires Christmas night (12/25/17 PM).

That’s the thing with Monoprice coupons, some of the time (but not most of the time) they also work on sale items, so you have to check/test every time if you want to get the lowest price available at the moment of purchase 🙂

It comes with three tuning nozzles that alter the sound signature. The three options per the product description follow the patterns of bright, sub-bassy and neutral-ish (“deliver a more accurate frequency response”). They have close-up pictures of the tuning nozzles [screenshot below]:

Accessories are a leather storage pouch, a cord clip, and silicone eartips.

This could make for an interesting and more complicated review for the boldly-going early-adopters as you would essentially be reviewing three different earphones in terms of sound signature.

And that’s before you go wild and mix different tuning nozzles on each ear! I said “boldly going” 🙂

Monoprice 8323 Closed Over-Ears with Bluetooth (and apt-X) for $25 with free standard US shipping

The closed-back wired over-ear Monoprice 8323 are one of the sub-$40 bang for the buck headphones (with interchangeable cable to boot). Piggy-backing on their popularity, Monoprice has now released a bluetooth version with apt-X support, the model 24735 (a side-effect of the temporally-based sequential way hey name their products, they couldn’t have a model name with 8323 in it)…

… and this bluetooth model is now on sale for $25 with free standard US shipping at the Monoprice website. No coupon is needed, the price you see is the price you pay! This is a limited time offer, expiration date unknown.

I haven’t seen the bluetooth version, but I have the old-school model. Despite their size and expansion on your head when you wear them, they just barely fit on my head. I have an above average head size/volume, but by no means the largest one, so keep that in mind! I rarely have head-size “just barely fits” issues with over-ears.

If you like the speed of Prime shipping (and don’t want to pay for shipping for them from Monoprice), the new condition Monoprice 8323 Closed Over-Ears are on sale for $18.45 as a Gold Box Lightning Deal until Friday at 1:45am ET or earlier if sold out. These are sold and shipped by Amazon. They average 4.2 out of 5 based on 1360 customer reviews.

I have these and will be posting a review eventually (when I go into “writing spree” mode). The one surprise is that despite how big they are, they are actually not as roomy for big heads. I am not the biggest head around, but I can just barely fit in.

Speaking of the 8323, Monoprice has launched a Bluetooth version of them, the 8323 Bluetooth, and somehow they were able to afford Qualcomm’s apt-X for them 🙂
