Do not be alarmed if you see that the HiFiMAN HE-350 listing is expiring soon at Massdrop. Version 2 (as the V2 hints at) of the Hifiman RE400i in-ear headphones is currently available for $79 with free shipping by Hifiman through amazon.com. This ships directly from Hifiman’s store, so it is not Prime eligible. There are no customer reviews at the moment. The V2 is also available for the same price by the Hifiman eBay store. I do not know what the differences are between this and the first generation model. There is no mention of a V2 for the RE400i at their website.
Store Demo Hifiman Edition S On-Ears for $209 [updated]
The Hifiman Edition S on-ears (not to be confused with the more expensive “Edition X”) go for $250 in new condition at authorized dealers, but if you want to save some, you can get them in “Store Demo” condition (less than 5 hours used) with full warranty from authorized dealer RazorDog Audio on eBay. These can be switched between open and closed. Note that these are NOT planar magnetic.

I am doing a mini-sweep of Amazon Warehouse Deals, which partially explains the randomness of some of the posts. We go planar flagship now, the HifiMan HE-1000 are available in open-box condition from authorized dealer Electronics Expo (EE) thru Amazon Warehouse Deals for $1980~. They ship directly from EE, so they are not eligible for Prime shipping. Their listing says all accessories and warranty are included.
Used HifiMan HE-400S for $228
The Hifiman HE-400S are currently settled on $228 as a used price at Amazon Warehouse Deals (AWD) among recognizable sellers. Two of the options are Prime eligible (fulfilled by Amazon) by Kraft Street and Audio Advisor (both “Used – Very Good” condition), while Hifi Heaven (authorized dealer) has them in “Used – Like New” but it ships directly from them, not Prime eligible. AWD’s own price is $231.
The planar for mobile/portable use are definitely sustaining their momentum. The OPPO PM-3 is in-and-out of stock but remains at $400, while the used options that remain are only by individuals, none of the usual bigger-sellers have them.
