Sennheiser HD 4.50 BT with ANC for $160 after coupon

I am going through some of the headphones featured in the eBay coupon promotion and here’s one that defeats the current prices. The Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC closed-back over-ear bluetooths with active noise cancelling go for $200 at authorized dealers. Coupon code PBACK2SCHOOL20 drops the price by 20% off, going from $200 to $160 at authorized dealer Video and Audio Center on eBay (Southern California retailer). Since they are a known B&M authorized dealer, you get the 2-year Sennheiser warranty with these.

PS: these came in with the January 2017 wave of new Sennheiser products at CES 2017. Sennheiser has been rolling out new products left and right these days.

20% off select Headphones with eBay coupon (340+ options)

eBay is back with another with another coupon promotion featuring almost forty different sellers. Coupon code PBACK2SCHOOL20 gets you 20% off participating items, with an individual price of $25 or higher.

There are some recognizable sellers that offer headphones, and when you navigate the sub-categories to the Headphones category there’s almost 350 options over there.

There are many ways to further filter them down on the left-hand side of the page there, eg, by manufacturer, headphone type, and features. Or you can sort them by price on the top right corner of the page.

The coupon restrictions are like this: the minimum item price must be $25+, which is solved by the links above since they are prefiltered to include items in the price range. The maximum discount is $50. So items priced over $250 get a flat $50 off discount. Eligible items priced between $25 and $200 get 20% off.

Only the participating items and sellers are eligible. Of course it doesn’t hurt to try the coupon regardless, but it’s not expected to work on non-eligible items. The coupon expires 7/17/17 at 3am Eastern time.

NOTE: there is a mix of sellers with various warranty options, some are authorized, others are not. The products too can be in different conditions. So to cut a long story short, check the condition and warranty of each item; do not assume they are all new condition with USA warranty!

They are used but some may be factory sealed with blemishes or cracks or missing shrink-wrap and such. Check each listing for details…

Used AudioQuest Nighthawk Wood Headphones for $350

I have already exceeded my weekly allowance of bad puns and segues in the new Headphoolia round-up, so no more until next week. But there is Night-Hawk one over there 🙂

Which brings us to the AudioQuest Nighthawk Wood Headphones which go for $500 in new condition, but if you are comfortable with used headphones, you have two USED options at Amazon Warehouse Deals in “Used – Very Good” condition, $349 by Audio Advice and $356 by Amazon Warehouse Deals actual.

PS: as usual, avoid making any purchases from “Just Launched” and iffy sellers, and ones that ask you to email them before purchase. Nothing good will come out of these. They intentionally pick lower prices to bait people into biting.

New “This Week in Headphoolia” is POSTED!

This was supposed to come out last Sunday. But the pre-Prime-Day madness got in the way. Thankfully I had already earmarked all the interesting posts, so today I finally got around to assembling them into the e-zine format that is this week’s This Week in Headphoolia.

Trigger warning for bad puns and horrible segues: because I’m writing this early in the day, my brain is more active, which means every other sentence is either a bad pun or segue 🙂 You have been warned!

We reached a mini milestone for these! Twenty editions are in the book, almost half a year worth of these. You can find them all in the Headphoolia Archives. Or if you prefer to read these type of things through an RSS Reader or services that rely on RSS (eg Feedly), you can sign up for the FREE Full-Text RSS Feed of our parallel content blog which has been picking up momentum (in terms of actual posting things there) the few weeks 🙂

Used Focal Listen Closed Wired Over-Ears for $179

Just like it happened when V-Moda went bluetooth with the Crossfade over-ears, the release of a new bluetooth headphone is causing the previous wired-only model to drop in price. In this case, the release of the brand new Focal Listen Wireless has pushed down the used prices of the wired Focal Listen over-ears.

You can get it in “Used – Like New” condition (open box condition) from authorized dealer “IQ Entertainment” through Amazon Warehouse Deals (AWD) for $179 with free shipping. They ship directly from IQ Entertainment, which is a B&M A/V store in the great state of Virginia. The IQ listing says this comes with a full warranty as they are an authorized dealer.

AWD’s own listing is $207~ in “Used – Like New” condition. AWD’s actual (Amazon’s own inventory) makes no promises of any manufacturer warranty, but they offer a 30-day return policy.

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX Headphones for $200

Pearly pearly dewdrops drops! The Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX Headphones are back on at the Massdrop website at the market-enforced price of $200 with free shipping. There are thousands of units available, so these ones won’t sell out in milliseconds.

Sony MDR-100ABN Bluetooth ANC Over-Ears for $179

Automated price-matching time at Amazon, where their little price bots have price-matched Beach Camera’s $179 price on the new condition Sony MDR-100ABN Bluetooth ANC Over-Ears in the black and blue color schemes. In those individual listings, you will notice that this price is offered by both Amazon actual and Beach Cameras, so make sure you add to the shopping cart the seller of your choice.

These have a similar name to the wired-only MDR-100AAP. Apparently no one at Sony thinks “AAP” and “ABN” are not confusing and they are consumer friendly names 🙂

Status Audio HD One Closed On-Ears for $19 in new condition

It’s sale time again or clearance or both, the new condition Status Audio HD One Closed On-Ears are on sale for $19 per pair, in three color choices, by Status Audio with the orders fulfilled by Amazon, so they are Prime eligible. You can buy as many as there are available. These are new condition. The 50% off in-cart promotion expired, but this is an even lower price (it was $22 with the in-cart promotion).

Bose Mobile Earphones for $60 w/free S&H

If you prefer the previous generation of the Bose earphones with the “Stay Hear” inner earhooks, and prefer to buy them new condition instead of used, you can get them so for $60 with free shipping at the official BOSE eBay store with a limit of up to five pairs per customer. This is a model with a mic and 3-button remote.

These are somewhere in-between an in-ear and an earbud. They don’t fill the ear canal like a typical in-ear does. Instead, they have a mini speaker-like protrusion that goes in the ear canal but does not create a seal. Meanwhile their (removable) hooks hook the ear contours (instead of going over the top of the ear), making them harder to drop off.

In a way they are a compromise if you hate both in-ears and earbuds 🙂

Refurbished Bose QC35 with full warranty for $260

If you missed out the earlier $300 Rakuten sale on the Bose QC35 Quiet Comfort headphones (with Bluetooth and ANC), and don’t want to wait for the return of the sale, fear not. The official BOSE eBay store is offering them in factory renewed condition with the same warranty as the new condition model for $260 in black or silver color scheme with a limit of up to five per customer. The regular new condition price for these is $350.

BOSE is no longer the only game in town when it comes to ANC. It now has actual contenders in the new Sony MDR-1000X and others. More and more audio and electronics manufacturers are congregating on the $300-ish over-ears with ANC and bluetooth segment. A popular and profitable combo it seems.

PS: last week’s “This Week in Headphoolia” [previous editions] roundup should be posted by tonight. I will post a separate alert when it’s ready. I had assembled all the links by Sunday, but ran out of time to actually write the post. Then Prime Day hit and here we are 🙂
