If you like to buy music or music apps or sign-up for music subscription services through Google Play, CVS brick and mortar stores are running a Google PLAY gift card promotion until the end of day on Saturday 5/27/17. You buy a $50 Google Play gift card, and the cash register will spit out a $10 CVS Extra Bucks rewards. This is store credit that you can spend in future purchases at CVS. It has to get spent in one transaction, so you must be willing to make a $10+ purchase there in the future.
I don’t remember if you have to be a CVS Rewards member to do this or not. It’s free to join.
Assuming you have no problem spending the $10 CVS Extra Bucks on things you need, this is a 20% effective discount. In addition to using the GooglePLAY gift card on the usual variety of digital content and apps, you can also use the GooglePlay gift card balance to pay for your Google Play All Access Music Subscription service.
Just adjust the settings using the GooglePLAY app or the website. I’ve been doing this for many months now without issue. It is like you are getting a 20% off discount on the price of their music subscription service. I haven’t tried this yet with other subscriptions services (eg HBO Now), so I don’t know if this option only works with Google’s own subscription services or all available services through Google PLAY.
One of the benefits of the Google Play Music is that you can also upload thousands of songs of your own music for free, and you will have a unified catalog of the music you uploaded, the music you purchased, and the music that’s included in their subscription service. You don’t have to remember where each file is 🙂
