This looks like another price match of sorts, because a trio of sellers at Amazon.com, including Amazon actual, Beach and Focus Cameras are offering the new condition Beyerdynamic DT990 PREMIUM 250 ohm for $169 with free shipping. Amazon’s own limit is five per customer. If anyone needs more, you can get additional units from the other sellers. As usual, the safest bet is buying from Amazon actual since it’s their home store and you have the most flexibility/leeway in case of problems or issues or returns or exchanges.
Used Beyerdynamic Byron BTA In-Ears for $158
More of the IFA 2016 era headphones are floating in the market, more so that they are now making the rounds in the used market. Case in point, the Beyerdynamic Byron BTA bluetooth in-ears go for $200 in new condition, but if you prefer used, it currently goes for around $158 (“Used – Very Good” condition; minor cosmetic imperfections; damaged packaging) by Amazon Warehouse Deals actual. You can also monitor the used price to see if it furthers drops over time.
Used Beyerdynamic T51i On-Ears for $139+
Another one of the 15% off AWD option it is the closed-back on-ear Beyerdynamic T51i portable headphone. With the 15% off discount factored it, the prices at Amazon Warehouse Deals are $139~ in “Used – Good” condition and $148~ in “Used – Very Good”. There are MANY listings are “Used – Very Good” so over time, price pressure may build on this and bring it down.
NOTE: eligible items for this promotion show this in the detailed AWD listings, here’s a screenshot:
Beyerdynamic DT880 PREMIUM (32 ohm) for $150
The eBay Deals have reloaded their headphone deals with some new or re-animated offers (some of them are cyclical) and among them we have a PREMIUM Beyerdynamic headphone of their 789 line-up, it is the new condition DT880 (32 ohm) offered for $150 with free shipping by Buydig on eBay (98.8%, New Jersey).
The DT880 are semi-open. The higher the number, the more open they get: the DT990 is open, while the DT770 is closed. Each has PRO and PREMIUM options, and various ohm versions depending on the model, with the overall line-up ranging from 32 ohm to 600 ohm.
[DEAD] Beyerdynamic Custom STUDIO Headphones for $180
This daily deal expired…
Beyerdynamic Custom Street On-Ears drops to $57
The price of the black color scheme of the Beyerdynamic Custom Street On-Ears jumped to $80, but the white color scheme is dropping in price, you can now get it for around $57 at Amazon by Amazon actual with a limit of three per customer. It has a detachable cable with a 1-button remote.
You can see what’s included with it in our Text and Pictures unboxing and see how it’s doing in a developing in-progress diary-style review (latest updates go on top).
Beyerdynamic Byron Wired In-Ears drop to $49
The Beyerdynamic Byron wired in-ears were going for $79 out of the gate as of late September 2016 but as of a price-check as of the time of writing, they are now down to $49 with free shipping by various sellers at Amazon. Electronics Expo and Beach Camera are in-stock right now, while Amazon actual has a “1-4 weeks” estimate.
It is interesting to see a $30 price drop out of the gate. I don’t know if this is BeyerD-initiated, or one seller dropped the price and everybody else price-matched it.
Now shipping: Beyerdynamic BTA Bluetooth In-Ears for $199
Another one of the IFA 2016 headphones is now rolling out, it is the Beyerdynamic BTA bluetooth in-ears going for $199 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual along with marketplace sellers there… Continuing to be in-stock is the Byron BT in-ears for $99 with free shipping by Amazon and others over there…
Beyerdynamic T51i On-Ears for $199 [updated]
More discounting on the Beyerdynamic front, this time it is the new condition closed-back on-ear Beyerdynamic T51i going for $199 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual by a marketplace seller [update on 10/8/16]
Speaking of BeyerD, their Custom Street On-Ears have dropped to $64~ in the white color. The black color scheme jumped to $80. Price updated 10/8/16 here… These I got on an impulse buy a couple of weeks ago, if you are curious about them, here is the Text and Pictures Unboxing and an on-going and developing Review Diary. Spoiler alert: the next post in the Review Diary has been posted, will be it is “Bass Slider vs Blur’s Magic Whip” 🙂
Beyerdynamic DT 1350 (80 ohm) Limited Edition (Gold) for $220
If you are a fan of Limited Edition Beyerdynamics, the Focus Camera eBay store is offering the new condition closed-back on-ear DT 1350 (80 ohm) Limited Edition in Gold for $220 with free shipping with a limit of five per customer.
Beyerdynamic DT 880 Premium (600 ohm) with Fiio A1, Slappa Case, 32GB card for $229
The new condition Beyerdynamic DT 880 PREMIUM (600 ohm) are currently unlocked for $218~ shipped at Massdrop with a late October shipment estimate, but in terms of bang for the buck, this offer is “defeated” by Beach Camera on Amazon offering them for $229 with a Slappa HardBody Case ($20 price on its own), along with the Fiio A1 tiny little amp ($28 on its own), and a 32GB Lexar microSD with reader.
Used Beyerdynamic T90 Tesla for $217 [was $204; updated]
We continue our mini excursion into Amazon Warehouse Deals with the Beyerdynamic T90 Tesla headphones offered in “Used – Like New” for $217 “Used – Very Good” condition (cosmetic imperfections, damaged original packaging) going for $204~ with free shipping by Amazon Warehouse Deals actual. These average 4.4 out of 5 based on 46 customer reviews.
Beyerdynamic Custom Street On-Ears for $67 [limit 3]
There are on sale again, matching the lightning deal price of last week. It’s the new condition closed-back on-ear Beyerdynamic Custom STREET On-Ears, in the black color scheme, going for $67 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual with a limit of three per customer. These are not on a lightning deal, so the price continues until it changes (in other words I have no clue when it will change).
NOTE: these are on-ears, the “Street” is the On-Ear model. The non-Street Customs are over-ears.
I bought these as an impulse + curiosity buy. The Unboxing post I promised for last weekend was delayed, but delay no more, I just posted a Useful Unboxing (text and pictures only), no animations, no audio/video annoyances. A total of 22 pictures were posted (out of 160+ taken).
For some strange reason I decided not to listen to them until I posted the Unboxing post, so how they sound would not “color” the unboxing post. Not sure where this crazy idea came from 🙂
UPDATE:: the “Review Diary” for these is now LIVE will begin this weekend [hooray! Deadline met!]… A “review diary” is when the review develops over time, and I post findings as I use them. Instead of waiting until a review is “completed”. Not that anything is ever completed with audio since there are so many different ways to combine and interconnect things And a more practical reason, if I start a “review diary” I am more likely to review something versus not writing anything at all 🙂
Speaking of review-content related matters, the VE Monks Review Diary continues with more goofiness 🙂
[DEAD] Beyerdynamic Custom PRO Over-Ears for $140
This daily deal expired… The second option in the three Musician’s Friend Stupid Deals of the Day (they have three now instead of one per day) is the new condition closed-back over-ear Beyerdynamic Custom PRO headphones offered for $140 with free shipping. The price drops in the shopping cart. The product page displays a $220 price, but once you add to cart, there is a $80 off discount while this offer is running. The offer ends at 8am ET on Sunday or earlier if they run out of them.
Lord Byron is here (aka Beyerdynamic Byron BT in-stock for $100) [updated]
Officially announced at IFA 2016, the new Beyerdynamic Byron BT earphones are now in-stock and ready to ship for $100 at Amazon.com by Beach Camera. Amazon’s own shipping estimate has moved to October 3rd (eg they run out of what they previously had in-stock). [updated 9/29/16 AM]
Meanwhile the Byron wired in-ear is getting closer, its current estimate is “1 to 4 weeks” with a price of $79.
Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO (250 ohm) for $110 [from marketplace seller]
NewEgg Flash is their attempt at the social shopping thing (eg Groupon, LivingSocial, Woot, etc), the offers there typically last a week (or so), but many of them return every few weeks, others do not.
To cut a long story short, marketplace seller “ClassyU” is offering the new condition closed-back over-ear Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO (250 ohm) for $110 with free shipping with a limit of 30 units per customer. The listing there says they come with a 2-year Beyerdynamic warranty. I am not familiar with the seller “ClassyU”, so I don’t know if they are an authorized dealer.
It’s also kinda sneaky of NewEggFlash not to prominently list the seller’s name. The only reason you discover this on the product page is when you page down towards the warranty. Because this and Jet’s “magical deliveries” it is a rather disturbing trend when you are buying more expensive items where authorized dealer status is important for warranty purposes.
Screenshot below:
However, people who pay more attention to details, will also notice that this is mentioned in the Shopping Cart, again this is good, but it should be prominent on the main product page, the mythical average consumer shouldn’t have to put on their Sherlock Holmes hats just to buy something…
[DEAD] Beyerdynamic Custom Street On-Ears for $67~ [ends 11pm ET]
This 6-hour lighting deal expired but it established a new low price for these headphones at $67~…
Used Beyerdynamic DT1770 for $385
We have even more Beyerdynamic action, this time it is their DT 1770 PRO studio headphones closed-back over-ear headphones with Tesla 2.0 technology. They go for $600 in new condition at authorized dealers, but as of the time of writing, there are many “Used – Very Good” condition listings for $385 at Amazon Warehouse Deals. Given the many listings, it is possible that price-pressure may build on these and prices will drop further down. They are not a consumer headphone that moves fast, so that increases its chances. But that’s not guarantee because many known and unknown factors seem to decide how Amazon Warehouse Deals prices go up and down.
NOTE: there are some quality control issues with these, eg these 1-Star reviews.
Used Astell & Kern AKT5p Beyerdynamic Special Edition for $849
Special edition headphones now, the Astell & Kern AKT5p Beyerdynamic Special Edition go for $1000 in new condition at various retailers, but if you prefer used, you can get them in “Used – Like New” condition (damaged original packaging) for $849 with free shipping by Amazon Warehouse Deals actual.
Used Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Plus for $119 to $127
The white color scheme (it has black and red accents too) of the Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Plus over-ear headphones is currently available in “Used – Very Good” condition for $119~ and “Used – Like New” for $127~ by Amazon Warehouse Deals (AWD), both listings sold by AWD so they are Prime eligible. The $119 has “cosmetic imperfections” while the $127 does not (damaged original packaging).
Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO 250 Limited Edition for $130
$130 seems to be the trendy price for Beyerdynamic open-back headphones these days 🙂 Not only is the DT 770 Pro 80 Limited Edition (Amazon) going for $130, but so is the DT 990 PRO 250 Limited Edition, this one by Focus Camera on eBay.
Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Limited Edition for $130
Beyerdynamic how so many models in the 770-880-990 series, and that’s before you add the various Limited Editions and such. Which brings us to the beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Limited Edition, in new condition, currently on sale for $130 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual. These are all black.
PS: if you are not familiar with the Beyerdynamic line-up, here’s a quick way to remember which models are open/closed: the higher the number, the more open they are. The DT 770s are closed, the 880s are semi-open, and the 990 are open.
Beyerdynamic Custom Street On-Ears drop to $83
Another price drop! The black color scheme of the Beyerdynamic Custom Street on-ears is now down to $83 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual. These were one of the Prime Day offers when they had then dropped to $100. The white color scheme remains at $99. This is a sale, not a lightning deal, and the limit is 30 per eBay reseller customer 🙂
Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO (250 ohm) and Fiio E12 Mont Blanc and Slappa Case and 32GB Sony microSD for $599
The recently released Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO (250 ohm) currently goes for $599 at the few authorized dealers that currently sell it, but one of the retailers is offering it in a loaded bundle for the same price, Beach Camera on Amazon is bundling it with three freebies:
- Fiio E12 Mont Blanc headphone amp
- Slappa HardBody PRO headphone case
- 32GB Sony microSD card
Now the accessories do not necessarily have to be used all together. For example, none of the items included can use a microSD card, but you can use it on your phone, tablet, laptop, etc. The Fiio E12 and the Case can be used with the DT 1990 or any other headphones you have, whichever are the best match for your needs and preferences.
The Fiio E12 goes for around $100 on its own, and the case goes for around $20. You can get a 32GB microSD for around $10 these days, so that’s $130 in freebies while paying the same price.
This bundle gets free 2-day shipping even though it ships directly from Beach Camera. It’s a relatively recent development where Amazon partners with some of the marketplace sellers to encourage them to offer Prime-shipping on select items that ship directly from the seller. This typically happens for more expensive items. You can figure this out by paying attention to the highlighted areas in an Amazon product page such as this (screenshot below):
Pre-order new Beyerdynamic Byron Earphone Trio ($79 to $299)
Beyerdynamic teased these earlier in the summer but they were officially ushered out during IFA 2016 (and I just added them to the ever-growing list of New Headphones there), and they are now available for pre-order at Amazon as follows:
+ Byron (wired in-ear) for $79
+ Byron BT (Bluetooth as the “BT” hints at) for $149
+ Byron BTA (Bluetooth too) for $299
BeyerDynamic T90 Chrome Exclusive Limited Edition for $299
While checking BeyerDs on eBay, here comes another, this is not a discount but a limited edition, it’s Tesla time! It is the BeyerDynamic T90 Chrome Exclusive Limited Edition, celebrating the 90 year anniversary of BeyerD, in new condition with a USA warranty, going for $299 with free shipping by BuyDig’s eBay store with a limit of five per buyer. Exactly 100 units got sold so far per the listing.
[DEAD] Beyerdynamic DT990 PREMIUM (32 ohm) for $135
These offers ended…
Beyerdynamic DT990 (250) PRO and Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB AI and AT 2035 Mic for $289
This is a headphone bundle of three, the Beyerdynamic open-back over-ear DT 990 PRO (250 ohm) headphones, along with the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB Audio Interface (2nd Generation, red/black) and the Audio-Technica Cardioid Condenser Microphone (AT2035) for $289 with free shipping by Buydig on eBay. Limit one bundle per customer during this sale.
On their own, the Focusrite goes for $100 and the Mic goes for $150. so if you happen to need and like those two, it’s like getting the headphones for $50. If you only need one of the Interface/Mic, then it gets complicated depending on whether you are willing to sell/trade or gift the one you don’t need.
[DEAD] Beyerdynamic Custom STUDIO Headphones for $200
This daily deal expired but if you missed it, fear not, a lot of the MF daily deals are recurring, so it may return in the future (but obviously there is no guarantee; only guessing)…
Beyerdynamic DX 120 iE for $35 [MD] or $39 Now
Another earphones is now fully unlocked at the members-only shopping club Massdrop, it is the new condition Beyerdynamic DX 120 iE going for $32 plus $3~ flat shipping with about six days left to go in the offer (from blog posting date), and a mid-September 2016 shipping estimate… If you can’t wait that long, a few marketplace sellers have them for around $39.XX with the orders fulfilled by Amazon (Prime eligible)…
Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO (250 ohm) Limited Edition for $130
More headphones at the eBay featured specials, this time it is Focus Camera’s e-Bay Store offering the new condition open-back over-ear Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO (250 ohm) Limited Edition (black; straight cable) going for $130 with free shipping with a limit of 50 per customer. Over 200 units got sold so far from this listing.
Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Plus for $156
The white color scheme of the more recent Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Plus (the “Plus” is the sign of newness in this case) is currently on sale for $156~ with free shipping with a limit of five units per customer at Amazon by Amazon actual. They average 4.2 out of 5 based on 64 customer reviews.
On the other hand, if you prefer the previous generation model, in new condition but discontinued, the Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro over-ears with their “openeness slider” are on sale for $159 with free shipping, with a limit of five units per customer at Amazon by Amazon actual. They average 4.2 out of 5 based on 180+ customer reviews.
Beyerdynamic Custom Street On-Ears for $96
The Beyerdynamic Custom Street On-Ears started dropping in price during the Prime Day Madness, but it looks like they are continuing to drip-down in price, now they have dropped below the Price Day, going for the very specific price of $95.89 in new condition, in the black color scheme, at Amazon by Amazon actual. There is no quantity limitations.
Given the above, if you are curious about these, you may want to keep an eye on them for even further future discounting. Granted, stock price analysis does not work as well on headphone prices, but the trend is clearly in the way of price drops on these ones.
Custom is in the sound-signature altering slider that can be found physically on the headphones, and also in the handful of colorful and interchangeable earcup plates. They fold into a custom case and get gently caressed by a two year warranty 😉
Used Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO (250 ohm) for $115
If you don’t want to wait for future sales or bundles, the open-back over-ear Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO (250 ohm) are available in “Used – Very Good” condition for $115 (various conditions) with free shipping by Amazon Warehouse Deals (updated link) and “Used – Like New” for $122~. Since there are multiple listings, price pressure may (or may not) build up over time.
UPDATE: there are multiple used listings, some are back-ordered (strangely), others are not.
PS: there’s a goofy thing with Amazon Warehouse Deals, sometimes it shows a summary of the listings, so not all used options may be shown unless you go specifically to the used-only listings. This headphone, as of the time of writing, is a good example. The general listing only shows some of the used options, but when you click on the Used-only option in the left hand side, you see all used listings. Same thing with new and refurbished. Even though I am aware of this, I still forget about it!
Beyerdynamic Custom Street On-Ears drop to $98
One of the Prime Day offers has already been “defeated”, by a single dollar, but this is also open to everyone, not just Prime members. It is the new condition closed-back on-ear Beyerdynamic Custom Street going for $98 with free shipping in either the black or white color scheme, with a limit of three per customer. If you take stock analysis on headphone pricing, one could monitor the “falling knife” until it finds a new “bottom”, but having said that, it’s not a stock 🙂
PS: since this is a new condition item sold by Amazon actual, you can use the $10 promotional credit if you participated in the Prime Day gift card promotion.
