The HD1 line is the renamed/rebooted Momentum line after Sennheiser run into a naming situation in the US market with the Momentum name.
It is interesting that Sennheiser is not competing on price with these (typical price $500) with the more populous $300-ish line that includes the BOSE QC35 and Sony *-1000Xs.
