The recently released Sennheiser HD 598 Special Edition (with a more conventional black finish) are on sale again, going for $135 with free shipping, with a limit of two per customer at Amazon by Amazon actual.
Their reviews are blended with those of the older Ivory and Brown color scheme. The older model has the lion’s share of the 1700+ customer reviews. But you can use this filtered review list to read the 128 customer reviews for the new Special Edition model. Unfortunately it doesn’t show the average rating with in the filtered view, and I can’t calculate the average on the fly.
