This is strange but as of 9/30/17 at 4:50pm ET recheck, the options to buy the mp3-albums is gone! I haven’t seen something like this before at Amazon for mp3 music…
And now a music sale! In mp3 format, Amazon is offering the double Miles Davis mp3-album Bitches Brew for $1.29 total. That’s for the whole album, over 105 minutes runtime in seven tracks. It averages 4.5 out of 5 based on 310+ customer reviews.
But that’s not all. A number of other Miles Davis mp3-albums are on sale including:
+ Jazz at The Plaza for $1.29 (40 mins)
+ In Concert at Philharmonic Hall for $1.29 (84 mins; Instrumental)
+ Miles In The Sky for $2.58 (72 mins)
+ On the Corner for $2.58 (55 mins)
These are mp3. Amazon, like other major mass market digital music retailers, has not joined the high-resolution music sales party.
VINYL
Speaking of music, but this time on VINYL with a “digital copy” (mp3 download) at Amazon you can get the self-titled Rage Against The Machine album for $8. Free 2-day shipping if a Prime member. Limit three per customer during this sale.
Also on VINYL, a 20-track compilation, “Experience Hendrix: The Best of Jimi Hendrix” for $10. This is a double vinyl album, with over 70 minutes runtime. You also get a “digital copy” in mp3. Amazon gives you access to the digital copies the moment you pay for your order. You don’t have to wait for the vinyl record to arrive and you don’t have to enter promo codes and such. Their shopping cart and servers do all the work in the background.
