Sony MDR-S70AP Foldable On-Ears for $20

The Sony MDR-S70AP foldable on-ears, in the white-brown color scheme, are currently going for $20 by a marketplace seller with the order fulfilled by Amazon so they are Prime eligible. Not a lot of information is available on these. They might be a Japan-only product that found its way to an Amazon warehouse.

PS: the earpads remind me of the “telephone receiver” style, eg in Shure SRH 144/145.

In-Stock Now: Onkyo Iron Maiden Official On-Ears for $299

While the previous Onkyo post was on the bang-for-the-buck side of things, this one is at the other end of the spectrum, it is the fandom premium! For fans of Iron Maiden, the official licensed Iron Maiden ED-PH0N3S On-Ears are back in-stock and ready to ship for the fandom-premium price of $299 with free shipping by Onkyo through Amazon.

The listing says this was co-developed with Steve Harris, with 200+ development days, and 20+ Onkyo engineers and things like that.

Beyerdynamic A20 Headphone Amplifier for $450 [updated]

The new condition Beyerdynamic A20 Headphone Amplifier is currently on sale for $450 with free shipping and a limit of five units per customer at Amazon by Amazon actual and a few marketplace sellers. It looks like it could be a computer-generated price-match. The amp averages 4.8 out of 5 based on 14 customer reviews and has 13 questions peer-answered.

PS: today’s posts are a mix of used and new condition items. I try to mention “new condition” in the blog-post to make sure it’s not confusing. Used, Open Box and Refurbished items mention that in both the post and the post title. This is a side-effect of doing online shopping immersions. You jump from one thing to another, and if there are discounts and sales, all kinds of random things surface 🙂

UPDATE: As Allan pointed out in the comments, Amazon’s regular price is $456. This may be an error on the Amazon website or may be the amp’s price went up lifting all other prices? As of 8pm ET, it goes for $450 by Amazon actual and some marketplace sellers there, $500 at some authorized dealers (Sonix, Focus, Zorro, Adorama) and $600 at others (OneCall, Beyerdynamic USA own store).

Used Definitive Technology Symphony 1 for $260

Another area of contention among today’s “digital headphones” is the combination of Bluetooth and ANC, and one of those, the Definitive Technology Symphony 1 is available for $260 in “Used – Like New” condition by a couple of recognizable sellers through Amazon Warehouse Deals. One of the two, OneCall, is also offering the same item through their eBay store. These headphones average 4.1 out of 5 based on 43 customer reviews at Amazon.

Used Beyerdynamic DT 1770 for $417+ [Open Box for $460+]

The Beyerdynamic PRO 1770 closed-back Studio headphones currently go for $600 in new condition at authorized dealers (be VERY VERY VERY careful when you see iffy listings offering them for $300), but if you want to save some, you can get them in used condition starting at “Used – Good” for $417 and “Used – Very Good” for $444~ at Amazon Warehouse Deals. There are many listings of “Very Good” so there’s a reasonable chance of supply putting pressure on future prices.

Further down the page you can also find “Used – Like New” open-box options by authorized dealers (Electronics Expo, OneCall) starting at $460. The two listings from OneCall are also available through their eBay store.
