Pre-order 62 track “Big Classical Beatles Box” for $0.99

On now something new to test your headphones with. Ooops, I mean, new music to listen to 🙂 Coming out on Friday February 9 in 2018 (Friday is the new Tuesday for music releases after all) there is a brand new 63-track classical music compilation with Beatles music. It is the Big Classical Beatles Box by the BachGuid. The whole set can be yours for $0.99. Total run time is 3 hours and 22 minutes, not bad for 99c 🙂

Almost all the tracks are available as 30 seconds samples. Mouse over an individual track and the option to play the sample appears (this with a laptop/desktop browser). Or you can go to the top of the track list and press the master PLAY button and it will play all 62 samples. That’s half an hour of sampled music 🙂

This is just the tip of the iceberg for 99c mega-bundles at Amazon. For example, here are a handful of Little Big boxes featuring various composers and instrument-centric music as well.

FREE (mp3 albums): Garth Brooks “The Chase” and “In Pieces”

The price is right! For a limited time, Amazon is running a promotion that gets you the Garth Brooks 1992 and 1993 “The Chase” and “In Pieces” albums for FREE in mp3 format. You can download and/or stream. Each album has ten tracks. They are offered as a double album in the Amazon listing, but they were released separately. Check his Discography for details.

Music: 24-bit 48kHz FLAC for $6.45 of NIN “Not the Actual Events” EP

Friday is the new Tuesday, and among the new music this Friday we have a new EP by Nine Inch Nails. This 5-track album is not available digital-only at the official NIN store (you have to buy it with “physical components” to get the digital copies as well). However, 7 digital comes to the digital rescue, they are offering a 24-bit 48kHz FLAC for $6.45 (no further details are given). The iTunes and Amazon prices are $6 for the AAC and mp3 respectively, so that’s a good price for FLAC. It is not currently listed at HDtracks.

24-bit FLAC: Joanne album (Deluxe, Lady Gaga) for $10

If you need some 24-bit music for testing purposes, the brand new Lady Gaga album “Joanne”, in the deluxe edition (14 tracks, 47 minutes) is on sale for a limited time in the 24-bit 44.1 kHz FLAC version for $10 at the US version of the 7digital store. This is half the price of HDTracks, except 7digital does not offer the WAV option.

The next best deal is for the mp3 version of the standard album (11 tracks) going for $4 for Friday only at amazon.com.

Classical Music (eg for headphone testing): Big Box Classical Compilations for $0.99 each (100+ tracks in most compilations)

If you like to use classical music as part of your headphone/music testing or listening or *gasp* music appreciation, there is a very affordable way to load up your digital audio player with lots of classical music without breaking the bank. There are over 50 Big Box Classical MP3 Compilations going for $0.99 per compilation at Amazon MP3.

Each compilation has an insane amount of tracks included, for example the 99c Beethoven Big Box gets you 176 tracks with a total playtime of over 15 hours. That’s almost two tracks per penny 🙂

Of headphone testing interest, some of the many compilations are broken down by instrument (violin, piano, guitar, trumpet, winds, brass, oboe) or music style (baroque, hymns/choirs, orchestral, symphonies, flamenco, cantatas, overtures, etc).

On top of that, each purchase is automatically added to your Amazon Music streaming account, so you can stream them without taking any additional steps using the Amazon Music apps. You can also download them to your computer as mp3s and transfer them to your other devices as you please.

Almost all of these are doing well review-wise, you can use the review scores and the number of reviews as one way to help you filter them if you can’t decide which ones to get.

$8 FLAC (16/44.1) double album: “The Book Of Souls” by Iron Maiden

We don’t cover music (album) sales here regularly, but in case you need a 16-bit FLAC heavy metal digital album for headphone evaluation purposes, the new “The Book Of Souls” double album (92 minutes) from Iron Maiden is on sale for a limited time only as 16-bit 44.1 kHz FLAC for $8 from 7digital.com (they have a US digital store).
