Panasonic RP-HT21-M [mic/remote] Lightweight On-Ears for $8

An old has been resurrected because of the mic/button technology! And it’s currently on sale at Amazon. It is the mic/single-button version of the good old lightweight on-ear Panasonic RP-HT21, with an “M” appended to its name for the Mic/Remote, currently on sale for $8 at Amazon by Amazon actual with up to four per customer at the sale price.

According to Amazon’s product page, I bought the old non-mic/remote version of this about ten years ago. A blast from the past type of a featherweight headphone!

As of the time of writing, there are less than 24 hours remaining for this decidedly bang for the buck headphone at Massdrop, it is the new condition lightweight open-back Koss KPH30i on-ears going for $20 (from a regular price of $30). It is available in three different color schemes. It comes with the usual Koss limited lifetime warranty.

Orders are estimated to ship in late May 2021, and will get shipped by Massdrop itself.

Koss KHP30iw lightweight on-ears for $20 [MD]

And now an “appetizer headphone”, for just $20, for the next six days and change [from blog-posting time] you can get the new condition lightweight Koss KHP30iw on-ears at the Massdrop website.

Despite the retro looks, this headphone has a mic/remote. It is available in two color schemes, with the beige (the one being featured in most of the product page) being the nicer ~ although that is subject to individual taste and opinion…

Panasonic RP-HT161 Lighter Over-Ears for $13

On the budget side of things, at Amazon USA, if you prefer a non-fully-solid headband, they are offering the new condition Panasonic RP-HT161-K closed-back over-ear lighter-ish [weight-wise] headphones for $13 and you can buy as many as you like. Note that these have a 6.5 foot cable. It has the XBS logo on it, so keep that in mind [XBS = Extra Bass System].

NOTE also that its reviews are mixed-in with an on-ear model that resides on the same root listing, so when reading both the customer reviews and the answered-questions, make sure they are referring to this model and not the other.

Panasonic RP-HT21 Lightweight On-Ears for $4.40 [limit 3]

If you are looking for a lightweight old-school design (think Sony Walkman cassette and CD player era) that is open-back, they are back on sale. The good old Panasonic RP-HT21 have stood the test of time and they are on sale again, in new condition, for $4.40 per pair, with a maximum of three per customer at the sale price by Amazon actual. They are however an Add-ON item, so you must place an order of $25+ in eligible/qualifying products, otherwise their shopping cart will simply refuse to let you buy them.

PS: they are on the same listing as a different model, so make sure you are looking at the correct customer reviews. I don’t know why Amazon or the manufacturers do this, it’s very annoying when you hav two different products on the same listing. It’s one thing to have different colors or at least different variants of the same product, but totally different products is, as Spock would say, iLLOGICAL!
