Fiio E10K USB DAC/amp + AK iRiver ICP-AT1000 IEMs for $80

The Fiio E10K USB DAC/amp goes for $76 in new condition at various authorized Fiio Dealers such as Adorama and various at Amazon but for $4 more, you can get it bundled with Astell&Kern (iRiver) ICP-AT1000 earphones, sold in this bundle by seller “ProStudio Sound & Music” with the orders Fulfilled by Amazon, so you get Prime shipping, and Amazon customer service and support.

Audio Technica M50X Over-Ears + $30 GC for $129

Amazon is returning to the gift card game, you can get the new condition Audio Technica M50X closed-back over-ears bundled with a $30 plastic Amazon Gift card in a gift-box (those can be handy during the holidays) for $129 with free shipping and handling.

Given how easy it is to spend a $30 gift card at Amazon on things you need/want, that’s like paying $99 for the headphones. Only the black color scheme is eligible for the gift card offer. In the rare occasion where the gift card arrives to your door before the M50x ships from an Amazon facility, you can use the value of the gift card towards the payment of the M50x. That’s because of how Amazon’s accounting splits bundle pricing to prevent return fraud.

Fiio Q1 portable DAC/amp + A&K ICP-AT1000 IEMs for $60

The first generation Fiio Q1 is currently on sale for $55 by a trio of fulfilled by Amazon (Prime eligible sellers), but wait, there’s another option!

β€œPRO Studio Sound & Music” fulfilled by Amazon, the same seller offering the [A3 or E11K] + A&K IEMs is also having a similar bundle, this time with the Fiio Q1. This time the listing is clear, this the Q1 portable DAC/amp, along with the AStell & Kern ICP-AT1000 earphones, together going for $60 with the orders fulfilled by Amazon (Prime shipping).

Fiio [E11K or A3] head-amp + Astell & Kern ICP-AT1000 earphones for $60

It’s not clear from the listing whether the packaging you will receive will be the Fiio A3 (the new naming scheme) or the Fiio E11K (the old naming scheme). Regardless, you will get one of the two, bundled with the Astell & Kern (iRiver) ICP-AT1000 earphones, together going for $60 with free shipping, sold by “PRO Studio Sound & Music” with the orders fulfilled by Amazon, so you have an extra layer of protection there.

This is a fairly new listing, created mid-October 2017, so the date is not helping figure out whether the packaging will be of the A3 or the E11K. Essentially you are getting the A&K earphones for $5 more versus the the A3 on its own.

The earphones on their own are currently marked as a holiday season sale for $40 at B&H Photo, while an eBay search only finds random scattered listings, nothing serious/concrete for these.

Audio Technica M50X + Fiio A3 head-amp for $129

And we have another Audio Technica M50x bundle for $129, this time you get a free Fiio A3 portable headphone amplifier instead of a $30 Netflix Gift Card. The Fiio A3 goes for $60 on its own, so you are getting a better value with this bundle assuming you want/need the Fiio A3 or don’t mind gifting or selling or trading it. Of the average consumer, you will find more takers on $30 Netflix in the hand than $60 audiophile technobabble for future use πŸ™‚

This is sold by the BuyDIG Rakuten store. No coupons, no rebates, just add to cart and checkout. BuyDIG creates some value combos, but not every combo they create is ideally suited to be used together. For example, if you find that you can drive your M50x well enough from your phone or DAP, you can use the Fiio A3 with some of your other headphones. Likewise, sometimes they bundle microSD cards with headphones. You obviously can’t stick the microSD card into the headphone, but you can use it with your phone, tablet, DAPs, Roku box, laptop, etc.

The EF100 will ship shortly after ordering, but the HE5 headphones will ship in December (no specific date or range in December mentioned). Speaking of open-back Sennheiser, their new HD 599 open over-ears is down to $200 by Amazon actual and the official Sennheiser store. This if you want to buy it now. If you don’t have a fixed time frame, they will probably have sales in the next few weeks/months if history repeats itself.

Free Sennheiser HD 4.20s Over-Ears with purchase of Flex 500 Digital Wireless System for $200 total

It’s a Sennheiser Combo Value Meal! For a limited time, if you purchase the Sennheiser Flex 5000 Digital Wireless Headphone system for its current price of $200, you can get the closed-back over-ear Sennheiser HD 4.20s (don’t smoke them!) for FREE!

To get the freebies, you must have both of them in the shopping cart, and both must be sold and shipped by Amazon actual (not marketplace sellers) and in new condition. Add one of each in the shipping cart:

+ Sennheiser Flex 5000 Digital Wireless Headphone

+ Sennheiser HD 4.20s Over-Ears, closed-back
+ oops, almost forgot, we have a text and pictures unboxing here of the HD 4.20s headphones (no annoying audio/video)
+ so mayhaps there is a method to this bundling madness, because the HD 4.20s’s best feature is perhaps the earpads, comfort for long TV viewing/listening sessions

Then proceed to checkout, and at the top right corner of the Checkout page, the current price of the HD 4.20s will be automatically discounted. there’s no coupon code to enter. If you don’t see the discount, it means the promotion expired or something else is wrong. You must see the discount, otherwise you won’t get the discount!

Here’s a screenshot of how it should look:

What the Frell is the Sennheiser Flex 500?

The Sennheiser HD 4.20s is part of the Sennheiser HD 4*.* series, a known entity. But what exactly is this $200 Flex 500 digital wireless headphone thing?

This is based on the product description, I haven’t seen this: it is a more stylish wireless audio system, that is not using Bluetooth, so it is an RF wireless. It has digital optical and analog inputs. The receiver has a built-in rechargeable battery. The transmitter is more stylish than the usual pucks and headphone stand style transmitters of old. It looks more like a stylized doorstop πŸ™‚

You can use any headphones with it, it has a 3.5mm audio port. Included in the package are the MX 475 earbuds [check their product page]. These come standard inside the Flex 500 box.

Since the Flex 500 can take any 3.5mm headphones, the limited Sennheiser promotion is giving the HD 4.20s closed over-ears for FREE since some people may prefer full-size headphones instead of earbuds. You have to manually add the HD 4.20s in the shopping cart to get them for FREE. The MX 475 earbuds come sealed in the Flex 500 package – you don’t have to do anything to get these (other than buy the Flex 500 item).

Note that the Flex 500 is targeting TV viewers. If you are interested in using this for music listening, there are trade-offs to consider versus other wireless audio options, and some of that may depend on exactly where you are planning to use it (RF interference, etc).
