Are they really ninjas if they are wearing pyjamas? The Mo-Fi is a powered (built-in amp) closed-back over-ear headphone but has no bluetooth and no ANC.

The prices are dropping for the used Blue Satellite Bluetooth headphones. They go for $400 in new condition but used prices are almost cut in half, starting at $228 in “Used – Very Good” condition with multiple listings at Amazon Warehouse Deals. This links shows Amazon’s summary of both used/new.

There are multiple listings for each condition, so if you are not in a hurry to receive it, you can babysit it and see if they drop further. Multiple factors play into the used prices at Amazon, it’s hard to predict, since supply and demand are not the only things that affect price (eg price of the new condition model drops or goes up, prices go up or down for seasonal sales, etc, etc, etc).
The headphones average 3.1 out of 5 based on just 13 customer reviews, so both numbers are cause for concern. In other words, what the numbers are suggesting, if you are not already familiar with these headphones, be sure to read up on them before buying.
It’s a “value meal” among the latest Dell Deals. As a combo, for $290 with free shipping you can get the Blue Yeti Blackout Mic + LOLA headphones for a limited time.
The LOLA headphones are closed-back over-ear un-powered wired headphones. Both products are made by Blue Microphones. No coupon needed, the price you see is the price you pay. But if you have any Dell gift cards or promotional gift cards and such, be sure to use them!
The Blue Ella planar-magnetic headphones go for $700 in new condition at authorized dealers, but if you want to save some, yet still get the full manufacturer warranty, you can get them in open-box condition from OneCall, an authorized and respected A/V dealer, for $590 with free shipping.

The new conditinon Blue Microphones Ella planar-magnetic headphones go for $700, but if you are comfortable with used headphones, you can get them for $491~ in “Used – Very Good” condition (minor cosmetic imperfections; damaged original packaging) or $521~ in “Used – Like New”, both of these offers by Amazon Warehouse Deals actual. These are also powered, not just planars, they have a built-in amp.
The Blue Microphones Satellite bluetooth headphones where the last to roll out when Blue expanded their headphone line-up. It remains at $400 in new condition, but if you don’t want to wait for discounts and you are comfortable with used condition headphones, they are available in “Used – Good” condition for $295~ at Amazon Warehouse Deals and they have multiple listings in “Used – Very Good” for $314~. Since there are multiple listings, price pressure may lead to further discounting in the future.
In other Blue Mic action, their unpowered LOLA sale ended, now both colors go for $250. However, there is some hope, because Amazon’s own price did not go up, they just yanked their own offer, so the lowest price is $250 by other sellers. It is possible that when Amazon’s own offer returns, it may be at the sale price. Most of the times it is not, but you never know.
However, the powered Mo-Fi in the black color scheme continues to go for $210 with a 2-4 weeks shipping estimate.

The Blue LOLA Closed Over-Ears (wired, unpowered headphones) continue to be on sale for $137 (ship in 1-3 months; limit up to three per customer), but now the sale is joined by their Mo-Fi Powered Headphones (wired, powered, closed-back) going for $245 by Amazon actual. The shipping estimate for these is 2-5 weeks. Amazon’s shipping estimates can be conservative at times, however, if you need something by a specific date or a specific occasion, do not assume they’ll arrive faster or on-time.
A quick refresher on the Blue Microphones line-up. The powered Mo-Fi were their claim to fame, along with their unique design. Then came Lola (a wired, unpowered, un-wireless headphones). Then at CES 2017 they introduced a trio of new headphones. Mo-Fi got a follow-up in the powered headphones category with the Sadie. They also entered two new market segments, planar-magnetics with the Ella (how does it sound with Ella Fitzgerald?), and bluetooth with the Satellite.
Two weeks ago these were going for $175, but right now the new condition closed-back Blue Microphones Lola Over-Ears are on sale for $137 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual. Limit up to three per customer. This is the wired headphone with the unusual design. Only the black color scheme is on sale. It has a “1 to 2 months” shipping estimate, which sometimes (but not always) could be a sign that the offer is towards its end.
PS: this is not a powered headphone. Their powered headphones are the older Mo-Fi, and the newer Sadie. Their planar magnetic is the Ella.
The new Blue Satellite bluetooth headphones are now in-stock for $400 at various retailers and they’ve been around long enough that there are multiple used listings of them at Amazon Warehouse Deals going for $330 in “Used – Very Good” condition. They only have five customer reviews there which are a mixed bag, so be sure to read up on them if you are not already familiar with their trade-offs.

PS: I am using the Powered category here on this blog to denote headphones that have a built-in amplifier IF they are not bluetooth/ANC. In other words, the built-in amp is a feature, not a necessity. Or something like that 🙂
