Back to Massdrop we go where some new offers are up on that members-only (but free for anyone to join) website. The reason for the login wall is that some of their offers are below MAP (minimum advertised prices) prices, so they can’t have an “open” website with them.

Audio Technica makes many headphones and they are not shy about releasing new ones every other day. Among them the ATH-RE-700 closed-back headphones. In the brown color scheme, they go for $95 at Amazon by Amazon actual.
If you prefer the black color scheme, it goes for $98 by Sonix Electronix and by Sonix at Amazon where they have one long customer review that compares to the ATH-M40x (and one short one).
Audio Technica ATH-M40x + Creative E1 portable head-amp for $110 total
This is an “if the stars align” type of a deal, if you happen to want both the new Audio Technica ATH-M40x closed-back headphones and the Creative Labs E1 portable headphone amp, they are bundled together for $110 with free shipping by Amazon actual (not by marketplace sellers). Audio Technica was busy planning how to attack the $300~ price range. Not only did they reveal the closed-back ATH-M70x but they also revealed a parallel open-back audiophile-baiting model, the ATH-R70x, and this model is now available for pre-order for $350 at Amazon.com with a May 1st release estimate. As the name suggests, this is a co-flagship with the M70x in this part of their product line-up.

After all the buzz generated by the M50 and M50x, it was only a matter of time before Audio Technica decided to jump on to the lucrative $300 price point with their Mx line-up. And now, the ATH-M70x are in-stock and shipping for $300 from various sellers at Amazon and Pitbull Audio on eBay.
Meanwhile, other retailers are beginning to offer some small freebies while still keeping the price at $300, for example Pitbull Audio on eBay includes the Fiio E6 portable headphone amp, while Kraft Music includes an extra cable, Kinyo earbuds and 4GB flash drive.
