The reason for the discounting is because MAGNI 3 is now out, and the MAGNI 3 is a successor to the MAGNI 2 UBER. There is only one MAGNI 3 model.

Strategically, one could decide between the Magni 2 or the Magni 3, sidestepping the Magni 2 Uber because the 2 Uber is only $20 less than the brand new Magni 3. On the other hand, paying $40 less is a better trade-off. Assuming you don’t want/need the benefits of the 2 Uber vs the 2 regular.
