News: No more new products from Oppo Digital

A sad day in the world of A/V, Oppo Digital (the US persona of the company based in the Silicon Valley) is going to stop making new products but will continue to provide support, warranty and repairs for their existing products. This was posted in a farewell post on their website. We discuss this more at the content-side of this website

How this will impact the pricing of their existing inventory, only time can tell. It depends on how much else they have available to sell, how much people love them, and what other competitive options are and will come out in the next few months/years. They will continue to sell them through their own store and other marketplaces such as amazon.com.

New Content Post: repurposing Wallet boxes as Earphone and DAP cases

We have a new blog-post on the content side of this blog, a new fun “repurposing” post, re-purposing empty wallet boxes as earphone and DAP cases. It works better than it sounds even, especially with the fancier wallet boxes 🙂

I have many and more repurposing ideas, but transferring them from notes to pictures and blog-posts takes time 🙂 Also part of this series of “Tips and Learnings” we previously posted these:

+ USING BACK TO SCHOOL DOORBUSTERS AS CHEAP CASES

+ UNCONVENTIONAL HEADPHONE HACKS

+ WHY NFC IN BLUETOOTH HEADPHONES?

Now shipping: Jabra Elite 65t Truly Wireless [corrected]

An update of the Headphone Tracker has another new headphone shipping, it is the Jabra Elite Sport 65t Truly wireless going for $170 by Amazon actual.

CORRECTION: I got the model names mixed up yesterday. The one that WAS on sale at Best Buy for $150 was a different and older model. All apologies for the confusion. Confusion is my superpower it seems 🙂

PSA: Best Buy is using the Spanish names for the colors of the Bose SoundSport Free

Best Buy is apparently using the Spanish color names for the three Bose SoundSport Free truly wireless earphones, that’s why you see there Naranja, Azul, and Negro, instead of Orange, Blue and Black. They are not exclusive or new Best Buy colors. Mayhaps they got mixed up, they have a website in Spanish

Photive BTH3 Over-Ear Bluetooth for $27

The new condition Photive BTH3 Over-Ear Bluetooth (closed-back obviously) headphones are offered for $27 with free shipping for Prime members or $5 flat shipping at the Woot Plus headphone sale which continues until the items offered there sell out. Limit up to ten per customer ~ never too early to start planning Christmas gifts 😉

This particular Photive model goes for $40 at amazon.com where it averages 3.9 out of 5 based on over 4000 customer reviews. It has nearly 800 answered questions, so if you are curious about something about it, chances are it may have been answered. Needless to say, you don’t have to read them all (ha!), both the reviews and the answers have search boxes. Infact Amazon now has a “universal search box” near the review are that searches everything (description, reviews, answers, etc).

It supports bluetooth 4.0 and has a 3.5mm input as well. It comes with a Photive zippered headphone case which you can also use for some of your other headphones, as long as they can fold flat (and fit inside obviously).

This is a good deal especially for Prime members, since you don’t have to pay that pesky +$5 flat shipping fee.
