Massdrop fans, we have Sennheiser-y news for you! The Sennheiser closed-back flagship, the HD 820 is now available for purchase at the Massdrop website. This is the standard version, it is not a “Massdrop x Sennheiser” co-production.
The price right now is $2000, which is also the price at reputable online dealers such as B&H Photo. The prices at Amazon’s start at $1850 BUT look who’s offering them at $1850. Do you know these retailers? Are they authorized Sennheiser dealers? (SPOILER ALERT: they are not!)
PS: to clarify something in case it’s confusing for those not living and breathing on Amazon. If a product is shipped by Amazon (“fulfilled by Amazon”) but sold by a 3rd-party/marketplace seller, the warranty status of the product is determined by the authorized dealer status of the 3rd-party/marketplace seller. Just because it is shipped by Amazon, there’s no automatic transubstantiation of the warranty status!
