Manufacturer Refurbished Sony MDR-1A drops to $150

The last time I posted about the manufacturer refurbished Sony MDR-1A in late August it was going for $180, but as of the time of writing, the price dropped to $150 with free shipping by Secondipity through Amazon Warehouse Deals. It ships directly from Secondipity, so it is not Prime-eligible.

The competing price to the manufacturer-refurbished are new-condition but international versions, imported to the USA without the blessings of Sony USA, so they don’t get their warranty. Their prices too have dropped a bit since, settling around $187 depending on the seller. Check the detailed listings for the either the silver MDR-1A or the black MDR-1A to see all price options.

The new condition price from authorized Sony USA dealers is $300.

Beyerdynamic Custom Street On-Ears drop to $83

Another price drop! The black color scheme of the Beyerdynamic Custom Street on-ears is now down to $83 with free shipping at Amazon by Amazon actual. These were one of the Prime Day offers when they had then dropped to $100. The white color scheme remains at $99. This is a sale, not a lightning deal, and the limit is 30 per eBay reseller customer 🙂

Used HifiMan HE-400S for $228

The Hifiman HE-400S are currently settled on $228 as a used price at Amazon Warehouse Deals (AWD) among recognizable sellers. Two of the options are Prime eligible (fulfilled by Amazon) by Kraft Street and Audio Advisor (both “Used – Very Good” condition), while Hifi Heaven (authorized dealer) has them in “Used – Like New” but it ships directly from them, not Prime eligible. AWD’s own price is $231.

The planar for mobile/portable use are definitely sustaining their momentum. The OPPO PM-3 is in-and-out of stock but remains at $400, while the used options that remain are only by individuals, none of the usual bigger-sellers have them.

Audeze now selling on Amazon (Prime eligible)

Audeze has opened up an Amazon Store front, selling some of their headphones there. Audeze is the seller but the orders are fulfilled by Amazon, so you get free 2-day shipping if you are a Prime member. They currently list seven headphones and two accessories (hard case, adapter). The headphones are variations of the EL-8 and SINE.

Sentey LS-4231 On-Ear headphones with Carrying Case for $10 [updated]

This is a chicken and the egg type of a deal. Do you buy it for the case or for the headphones? The Sentey LS-4231 closed-back on-ear headphones come with a hard zippered carrying case in their box, and they go for $10 in red headphone color schemes. The case is the same color (black).
