The price before the coupon is $770. Then you enter 38% off coupon code MCXAIXT2 and the price drops to around $477.

The coupon is from seller “HiDEF Lifestyle”, currently the only one offering this bundle, so the coupon will only work for them as the seller. This ships directly from HiDef Lifestyle, so no Prime shipping benefits.

Refurbished Fiio X5 first generation DAP for $129

This is an interesting trade-off if you are in the market for a DAP. The first generation of the Fiio X5 is now available manufacturer refurbished for $129 with free shipping at Adorama.com until 7/30/16 (or earlier if sold out).

The latest X5 model is the second generation which goes for $300 in new condition unless you find it on special. So you have to trade-off the advantages of the latest model, along with new-vs-refurbished, versus a much lower price. The first generation X5 has been around for a while, so plenty is written about it at various forums and websites. It can also serve as a USB DAC and it has two microSD slots (no on-board storage).

Pelican 1010 Micro Case with Clear Lid (Black or Red or Blue) for $9.50 [Also Pluck Foam Set for $3.19]

On the earphone storage front, now the black color scheme of the Pelican 1010 Micro Case has joined the red, both are on sale for $9.50 each at Amazon.com and they are Prime eligible. Practically there are no quantity restrictions on these unless one is a reseller (limit 87 units for the black, limit 90 for the red).

In a separate listing, the blue color scheme is also on sale for $9.50 with a limit of 55. The limit may just be how many units are available at the moment.

These have a clear lid, the color is the other three sides of the little cases.

In parallel, the Pelican 1012 Pick N’ Pluck Foam Set for 1010 is on sale for $3.17 each. It has the same crazy limit (up to 90 per customer), however, it is designated as an Add-On item, so one must place a $25+ order before they are allowed to purchase it. One of the Prime Day offers has already been “defeated”, by a single dollar, but this is also open to everyone, not just Prime members. Beyerdynamic DTX350m Closed On-Ears for $39 New/White or Used/Black [updated]

UPDATE: it is also available in the white color scheme in new condition for less than the new condition of the black color scheme. In white, it goes for $38.50 with free shipping by various on Amazon and by Focus Camera on eBay.

This is the black color scheme: Breaking news alert for bassheads. The Beyerdynamic DTX350m closed-back on-ear headphones (the “m” is important in the name, not to be confused with the “p” we mentioned yesterday) go for $52 in new condition but they are available in “Used – Good” condition for $39 and “Used – Very Good” condition for $41.60 by Amazon Warehouse Deals. The “breaking news” part is that it just got the Wall of Fame blessings of Innerfidelity ~ with video evidence.

NOTE however that 2 out of the 8 customer reviews at amazon.com say that these physically broke, one of the two reviews has pictures of the breaking point, adding another dimension to the “breaking news” 🙂

PS: this is totally in crackpot territory but the similarly looking (but not identical looking) AKG K618/K619 had fragility breakage issues and were basshead headphones.

Beyerdynamic Custom Street On-Ear Headphones for $109 for Everyone [updated]

UPDATE 7/13/16 at 4:52pm ET: I don’t know if it’s a feature or a bug, but Amazon’s product pages are changing the default standard prices as prices drop, creating confusion. For example, the Custom Street were going for $150 yesterday, but now looking at the price at the product page you’d think that $111.38 is their normal price. I’ll monitor the situation to see if there’s a method to the madness or computers-gone-wild. The $149 in white is also offered by Amazon actual, so it’s not a case of different sellers having the featured spot.
