The X3 II has a number of physical advantages over the X1 if you like to mix and match different devices and headphones and I/O sources. Having said that, for under $100, the Fiio X1 is a pretty good value if you want to listen to music through its headphone out (posts on the X1 are in the pipeline ~ well they are in my head ~ I have to transfer them to the page).
