Headphone Duet for $400: Sennheiser HD 600 + Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro (80 ohm)

A developing new trend perhaps in the world of headphone shopping, Amazon too is now in the game of headphone duets (I think that’s a good name to give this trend?). By “duets’ I mean they bundle two headphones and sell them together for one low(er) price. This particular bundle, sold by Amazon actual pairs the open-back over-ear Sennheiser HD 600 headphones with the Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro (80 ohm) closed-back over-ear headphones. These are new condition with manufacturer warranties.

PS: an easy way to remember the Beyerdynamic open/closed DT-famous models, the higher the number the more open they get: 770 is closed, 880 is semi-open, 990 is open for the whole universe to hear 🙂

Philips SHP-9500 Over-Ears for $70

The open-back over-ear Philips SHP-9500 managed to generate enough buzz of their own, on the wings of the Fidelio X1/X2 success perhaps and they are getting harder to find under $100. As of the time of writing, seller “NuTrend” has them on sale for $70 with free shipping through the NewEgg website. The seller “NuTrend” averages 4 out of 5 based on 881 reviews. Caution however, there are a lot of unhappy 1-star reviews of the seller, so this perhaps is best for the more adventurous and risky shoppers… (the headphones themselves average 5 out of 5 based on 33 customer reviews)…

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ears for $250

In parallel with the On-Ears mentioned below, the over-ear closed-back second generation (aka 2.0) Sennheiser Momentums are on sale for $250 with free shipping, available in multiple color-schemes and in either Android or Apple in-line remote configurations at Amazon by Amazon actual. The limit is five per customer… They average 4.4 out of 5 based on 78 customer reviews…

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 On-Ears for $150

If you had been waiting for a sale on the second generation Sennheiser Momentum on-ears (aka the 2.0), these closed-back are now down to $150 in multiple color-schemes and in either Apple or Android remote configurations for $150 with a limit of five each at Amazon by Amazon actual. The earlier higher price ($230) was probably stifling sales as they only have 20 customer reviews (but with a 4.6 out of 5).
