Shure SE-215 plus $10 store credit for $100

Shure used to have a $10 mail-in rebate on the SE-215 (one of the frequently recommended $100 in-ears), which was kinda goofy. Who wants to invest the time in a mail-in rebate for a $10 amount? When you factor in photocopies, postage, supplies, cutting up box/UPC, and such. The mail-in rebate promotion ended as of 1/11/15.

However, now they have a new more digital-shopper friendly promotion. You buy either the silver SE215-CL or the black SE215-K for $100, and three days after your order ships, Amazon will apply a $10 promotional credit to your Amazon account. This will happen automatically, you don’t need to do anything (other than buy the earphones of course).

This offer is only good when Amazon.com actual is the seller, not from marketplace sellers or used/refurbished. The offer expires 2/19/15 unless renewed or cancelled. They have terms and conditions explaining it. Annotated screenshot of the page mentioning the offer below:

PS: I checked a few other Shure earphones and headphones but so far, the SE-215 are the only ones I found having this promotion.

Massdrop: MEElectronics M-Duo as low as $35

New offering went up at Massdrop, this time it is the MEElectronics M-Duo in-ears, with the lowest price possible being $35 shipped. This has eight days left from today. It is not fully unlocked yet. Duo as in dual driver. The description unapologetically describes the sound signature as V-shaped.

Panasonic RP-HX250 Over-Ears for $13 to $15

On the budget front, especially if you have a Prime membership or you plan to make a $35+ purchase, the Panasonic RP-HX250 Over-Ears are on sale for $13 per pair in white and for $15~ in black at Amazon by Amazon actual with a limit of three per color. They average 3.5 out of 5 with 19 customer reviews.

Fanny Wang On-Ears (black/red) for $30

Fanny Wang’s On-Ear headphones, in a color scheme and style “inspired” by Beats Solo, are currently on deep sale, in new condition, going for $30 per pair at fulfilled by Amazon.com and sold there by Fanny Wang. Eligible for Prime shipping. You can buy as many as you like. The black color scheme goes for $50, the white for $60, and the rest for more. They average 4 out of 5 based on 117 customer reviews.

If your favorite color is not on sale, check also the used options. Click on the thumbnail of each color of choice to see all its price. The summary page linked in this paragraph shows the lowest price per color.

B&M or online: Able Planet NC180 ANC for $20

If you like to compare and review headphones, the Able Planet NC180 active noise cancelling headphones are sold for $20 per pair at Ross brick and mortar stores, or if you prefer online shopping, they go for the same price with free shipping, in new condition, by BuyDig on eBay (limit 5).

Please note these are doing horribly in reviews, so they are more of interest for research/testing/comparison purposes. They get 2.7 out of 5 based on 51 customer reviews at amazon.com where they have a rare “review intensity ratio”, the 1-stars are more than the 5-stars, they “win” 16-11.
